Quotes
We must know and believe that the Blessed Virgin, by a special grace of God, is the one spoken of in the Proverbs of Solomon, and that she was chosen to be the Mother of God before anything was created.
She has therefore been in God's grace at all times... God wanted to preserve her from original sin, which is mortal, and from all other dishonour; and he did this by a special grace, because the most
beautiful among the sons of men was to take flesh from her... If Mary had been infected with the stain of original sin, we would have to confess that she was at some time subject to God's wrath, which cannot be said or believed ... He did this for her as He did for the three young men of Babylon who were thrown into a burning furnace ... He preserved her from every mortal and venial original stain. Hence, Scripture says of her: “You are, my friend, among the daughters of men like a lily among thorns” and “You are all beautiful, my friend, and there is no stain in you”.
