Mike Kinsella

Mike Kinsella (born March 4, 1977) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. Having been involved in many Illinois-based bands, he is best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the emo band American Football (band). Quotes about Mike Kinsella It’s not often a guitarist is credited for being the progenitor of an entire style of music; however, you’d be hard-pressed not to give Mike Kinsella his dues for what he’s given to the worlds of mid-west emo and math rock. American Football still stands as one of the most important bands for the genre and it’s his twinkling, technical guitar work that forms the foundation for the group. His chemistry with guitarist Steve Holmes, and the ways they weave in and out of each other on “Never Meant” and “I’ll See You When We’re Both Not So Emotional” are remarkable. His solo project Owen offers plenty to love too, where emotion bleeds into every note he plays. John Hill of Loudwire (May 29, 2024) External links
