thumb|upright=1.5|Glasse's recipe for curry, 1748—the first known written English recipe for the dish Hannah Glasse (March 1708 – 1 September 1770) cookery writer, author of the famous The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy published in 1747 and remaining in print for 80 years. Misattributed First catch your hare. Sometimes attributed to Glasse, but in fact the phrase appears nowhere in her Art of Cookery. The closest is under roast hare (page 6), "Take your hare when it be cas'd", simply meaning take a skinned hare.
