The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island is a 1997 animated film directed by Charles Grosvenor. Ducky I do not like swarming leaf gobblers. Oh, no, no, no. Spike, pay attention. You're supposed to be sad like the rest of us! I do not mind finding food. I do not want to be food. Cera I don't want to live with a bunch of three-horns. They're too bossy! This is like waiting for your hatch day. It never seems to get any closer. He's a sharptooth! We're not his family, we're his diet! Petrie Okay, Petrie go... [he's grasped onto a tree so hard his claws are embedded in the trunk; even though he tries to let go of the tree] ...but first, Petrie need help! Friends no fight. Petrie not like! Elsie If you're going to be seasick, please let Aunt Elsie know so she could duck? Chomper And now I'm all grown up! Don't worry, Littlefoot. You are what you are, and I am what I am. We can't change it, but we can still be friends, can't we? [hears the Giganotosaurus snarling] I wonder who that is? Not my daddy... You sure you don't wanna stay? You'd be safe with us. [glances back at his parents awkwardly] I think... Other Littlefoot’s Grandpa: When the bright circle rose today, the Great Valley was a paradise. And now, the great night circle looks down on a wasteland. I'm afraid it could be a long time before there's enough green food again in our beloved valley to sustain us. Cera's Father: As much as I'd hate to agree with the long-neck, I must admit that he's right. There's nothing left to eat. Chomper's Father: [sees Chomper gathering plants, translated by subtitles] Sometimes I worry about that boy. Dialogue [Mr. Clubtail catches and eats the tree-star the kids were after] Mr. Clubtail: Morning, kids. Nice day for a tree-star. [walks away] Littlefoot: Morning, Mr. Clubtail. Glad you liked it. Cera: You greedy old--! Littlefoot: [nudges her] Cera! Ducky: [to Spike] I will miss Littlefoot, Cera, and Petrie. Yup, yup, yup... [starts to fall asleep, crying] Petrie: [waking her up] Me no miss Ducky. Me no miss Spike neither. Ducky: Then maybe I will not miss you either! Hmph! Petrie: Shh! Nobody have to miss nobody. Littlefoot has a plan! Come on! Petrie: Me hope they find us before something else does. Ducky: Something else? Like what? [They fall into a giant footprint] Petrie: Like whatever made this! [They panic and hurry out of it, bumping into Cera] Cera: Calm down, you babies! Ducky: I am so hungry, my tummy is rumbling. Petrie: Me hear it. Ducky: That is not my tummy. That is an...Earthshake! Littlefoot: [as everyone's hiding under a rock from the sharptooth] I don't think he can reach us. Ducky: [the sharptooth lifts the rock] I do not agree. Cera's Father: This is all your fault, long-neck! My daughter is gone, and I blame that boy of yours! Littlefoot's Grandpa: Littlefoot? Why? Cera's Father: Because... well, uh... because I have to blame somebody, don't I? Littlefoot: [Petrie is covering his eyes, perched on a branch] Petrie, what are you doing up there? Petrie: Me try to stay as far away from big water as me can. [the log rolls; Petrie emerges terrified] Cera: What is your problem?! Petrie: Sh...SHARPTOOTH...! THAT SWIMS! Cera: Are you crazy...?! Aaaaaaaaaaaah! Littlefoot: Cera! Cera: [looks down at a Cretoxyrhina, a prehistoric shark] Swimming Sharptooth! Aaaaaaaaah! Littlefoot: Back to where we started! Well, at least we're safe from the swimming sharptooth. Cera: [hears a distant roar] Yeah. I much rather be eaten by the one that walks. Littlefoot: So, you like it here? Chomper: It's okay. There's not much food. Cera: Till now! Littlefoot: Chomper?! Chomper: Yup. It's me! All: [Everyone glad] Chomper! Chomper: [about his parents] I'm sure they'll like you. Cera: How? Rare, medium, or well done? Chomper: I don't think it's safe for you guys to be here. My dad can smell you. Petrie: Us smell bad? Chomper: No, uh... He thinks you smell good. Petrie: That's even worser! Littlefoot: What did she tell you? Chomper: She told me… not to play with my food. [Both laugh] Littlefoot: Ducky? Where'd she go? Cera: [to Chomper] You didn't have a mid-morning snack when we weren't watching, did you? Chomper's Mother: [growling, translated by subtitles] Don't worry. You're safe with us. Chomper: She says you're safe with them.[Chomper's father sniffs the kids, who still have the smell of the plants on them]Chomper's Father: [growling, translated by subtitles] Anything that smells like that couldn't taste very good anyway. Littlefoot: What did he say? Chomper: He, uh... he says yeah, same goes for him.[Chomper's mother nuzzles Littlefoot's face, grateful to him for protecting her son]Littlefoot: Uh... you're welcome. Elsie: [telling the kids her story] So there I was swimming along, minding my own business, until I saw this very distinguished old longneck on the beach. Quite surprised, I was! Littlefoot: That's my grandpa! Elsie: Is he now? So that's where you get your good looks![Everyone else laughs]Elsie: Oh, I was right taken with him, I was. If only he had flippers, then we'd make quite a pair swimming about in the sea. Cera: [looking queasy] Oh, I hate the sea... Elsie: Do you, dearie? Now that's a shame. Because it is quite the loveliest place to live. Cera's Father: So what if we've found enough food to last us for years? Who cares? If we don't have our kids, what's the point? Littlefoot's Grandpa: For once I have to agree with you... Littlefoot's Grandma: We've got to have faith. I know the children will find us, somehow. Cera's Father: What do you expect them to do? Rise up out of the ocean? Littlefoot's Grandpa: [glances up, and looks amazed] That's...
