She is an advisor to the World Health Organization and a former professor at the University of Southampton in demography and social statistics.Nyovani has over 100 peer-reviewed research publications that focus on global health issues to highlight the influence of social and economic factors on health in low-income countries. If global health boards were more inclusive and diverse I think that we might see a change in some research – with a focus on the person as a whole rather than only focusing on a disease. When organisations don't embrace diversity, I say it's their loss. If we are going to have people making decisions about issues in low and middle income countries,we must listen to the people who see the reality on the ground. Sometimes, the things that matter are very basic. And we need to have that voice in board meetings.
