Eddie the Eagle (film)

Eddie the Eagle is a 2015 biographical sports comedy-drama film about Michael "Eddie" Edwards, an unfailingly determined British underdog. Despite lacking funding and facing mockery from the British Olympic Committee, he overcomes tremendous odds—and with the help of a reluctant, rebellious coach—becomes the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping at the 1988 Winter Games. Directed by Dexter Fletcher. Written by Sean Macaulay and Simon Kelton. Other Bjørn: Baron de Coubertin said: "The most important thing in the Olympic Games "is not to win but to take part." It's not the triumph but the struggle. Dialogue Terry: You name me one, one British ski-jumper! Eddie: Me. Eddie Edwards. I'm gonna be the squad. Eddie: Any tips then? Bronson: Don't die? Matti: You and I... You and I are like 1 o'clock and 11 o'clock. You see we are closer to each other than to others. Winning, losing, all that stuff is for the little people. Men like us, we jump to free our souls. We are the only two jumpers with a chance to make history today. If we do less than our best with the whole world watching... it will kill us inside. For all time. Eddie: Good luck, Matti.
