Interviews
Lately, I have been practising a sort of single-book fidelity in my reading, taking up each new work and trying to dedicate myself to it without reading anything else on the side. I neither know nor want to read multiple works in parallel like Virginia Woolf; it feels as though reading time stretches out in a peculiar way, and you lose that pleasant journey alongside a single book, that certain immersion into a language and internal world. And I do not really care to read books that primarily convey a "story"; I expect the medium itself to be engaged with, and I expect this not only from literature but from all art forms.
Influenced by Donna Haraway, I have also discovered 1970s American feminist science fiction, especially the works of Marge Piercy and Joanna Russ. I never would have thought I would ever voluntarily read science fiction, but you see, anything is possible!
So yes, I read a lot, because what else is there really to do in this world?

Poetry
I wake up in the middle of a wild sunrise in the East.
With three cats. Our whole family is crazy about cats, we love animals more
than people. It is in our genes. It is what unites us.
Is not knowledge
that kills after all. So I live in ignorance, because it is easier for me that way.
Fake news? I don't know any news. Everything has been known for a long time. And if not, what
difference does it make? Nothing that hurts can be cured...
Why are Russians hated like that everywhere, my aunt asks. I am in Russia for the first time in 27 years. After the first time. After all, we have always helped everyone, but we are hated like that everywhere. I am not going to say that I learned a slightly different history. Radically different from what she was taught in her day. I am not going to use the word occupation anymore. The first time was already painful enough.

the word is free
let us assume
that it is
but it still does not grant health insurance
my mother is the one
around whom there are always pigeons
because she feeds them, untangles their legs
which are sometimes tied together with a string or metal
out of spite toward other women
who hate her for it
pigeons bring viruses after all
parasites
we all want to be so healthy, healthy
to live long, long, long
I am the first in my
family to have a higher education
I am not sure
that my parents could have forked out
to pay for three years of bachelor's and two years of masters
just like that
but until
the word is free
one could also think about what else
might be free
a right to health?
a right to education?
no rights, no justice either

mommy tell me what is wrong with me
poetry
fucks me more
than men
poetry fucks me more than men
mommy tell me why it happens to some girls
evenings I read weeping sad men's poetry
dreaming
that I too
might write one day
so sadly
