The knight escaped an attack to it. Here White has the only not losing move 11. Ng4!, and after 11... Bxd5 12. Nxf6+ gxf6 13. Qxd5+ Kh8 14. Be3 Bxe3 15. fxe3 Ne5 Black ends up in a better position. Black's plan is there to create a massive pressure on g file.
