You can wait between 2–5 seconds (inclusive), but AI players are allowed to wait 1 second. This appears to be a missing option in the menu, and can be worked around simply by refreshing the page. You gain 2 points for each second holding the ball, in addition to any points that randomly occur during the game. This is multiplied by 4 if you are the last player standing. You gain 1 NP per point in the game, and an item if you won.
