The Sazerac originated in New Orleans, Louisiana and is based on a combination of Cognac and Peychaud's Bitters.
Ingredients
2 parts Brandy or Rye whiskey
1 dash Peychaud's bitters
1 tsp. simple syrup
1 tsp. absinthe
Garnishes
Lemon peel
Glass

Procedure
Coat the inside of the glass with a film of absinthe.
Stir the rest of the ingredients together in a mixing glass with ice.
Strain into the absinthe coated glass.
Garnish with lemon peel and serve.
