About This Book This book is all about Expert Systems, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) programming technique. Target Audience This book is designed for undergraduate and graduate students in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field. As this book is an introduction to the field of expert systems, and to artificial intelligence in general, students do not need to have a background in either of these areas. Prerequisites Readers of this book are expected to be familiar with computer programming, and know at least one high level language. Students are also expected to have a background in logic, and probability. Some sections may require additional mathematics skills, such as calculus.
