Hypercube (a.k.a. Table, Cube) XBRL Dimensions definition of hypercube Normative A hypercube is a type of report element. A hypercube is used to specify a set of zero to many dimensions and it's members and a one set of line items which is used to represent information provided within a report. Commentary and Interpretations For example, if a reporting economic entity had three segments and it wanted to report revenues for each segment; a hypercube would be created and within that hypercube a dimension such as "Segments" might be created and separate members for each of the three reporting segments and another member for the total value of the aggregation of all segments would also be provided. In addition, line items for that hypercube would be specified.
