Team Galactic ギンガ団 Ginga Dan literally “Galaxy Gang” or “Galaxy Brigade” is the crime syndicate in the Sinnoh region, which is the setting of the video games Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The team’s commanders are named after planets. The three admins that appear in the game are Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. They all have one Zubat, but their best Pokémon are Purugly for Mars, Skuntank for Jupiter and Toxicroak for Saturn. Later in the game their Zubats evolve into Golbats and the trio gain Bronzors. The boss of Team Galactic, Cyrus, has a Murkrow, Golbat, and a Sneasel. Later in the game his Murkrow evoles into Honchkrow, gains a Gyarados, Sneasel evolves into a Weavile, and his Golbat evolves into a Crobat. In Diamond and Pearl, Team Galactic kidnaps the legendary Pokémon Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, as well as trying to befriend Professor Rowan, an accomplished Pokémon researcher. The team also succeeds in waking the legendary Pokémon Dialga (in Diamond) or Palkia (in Pearl), aiming to control the Pokémon’s reality-warping powers in order to shape the world according to its wishes. In Sunyshore City, there is an old woman who states that she tutored Cyrus when he was a young boy. She states that he was a brilliant student and preferred the company of machines rather than humans, which explains his visible apathy of the feelings and emotions of Pokémon throughout the game.
