Ukrainian/The Present Tense

The present describes habitual, continuous, or discrete actions that occur now.
I'm very well at the moment.
This book is being worked on.
I read The Disciplined Life by Richard Taylor.
In the present, Ukrainian verbs have a different ending for each person: I, you (singular), he/she/it, we, you (plural), they. Giving the endings for each person in this order is known as conjugating the verb.
Singular Plural я живу: I liveми живемо: we live ти живеш: you live (singular/informal)ви живете: you live (plural/formal) він/вона/воно живе: he/she/it livesвони живуть: they live
Since each person has a different ending, the subject of the verb may sometimes be omitted, provided it doesn’t cause ambiguity.
Михайло! Де ти? — Mihajlo! Where are you?
Вже йду! — I'm coming!
Mihajlo's answer doesn't need «Я», as the verb ending (-у) makes the subject clear. Look at the verb ending if you are reading a text and cannot find the subject.
