Pokémon ORAS: An EXP Trick

I'm not quite sure how this is book-like in scope
Hello, and welcome to Wikibooks. Here is a trick you can use to get your low-leveled Pokémon to gain 10-15 levels at once! Now, keep in mind that this trick works only if the Pokémon you are trying to raise is Level 15 or lower, preferably Level 1 or Level 2, though. This trick works best for Pokémon such as the Level 2 Zigzagoon that you caught on Route 101 that you never bothered to train, or any Pokémon that you hatched from an egg that is still Level 1 and has been sitting untouched in your PC storage box this whole time.
Steps
Step 1: Teach the move "Protect" to your low-leveled Pokémon. Unfortunately, ever since Generation 4 (ORAS is a Generation 6 game), the move "Surf" hits all three targets in Double Battle, including your ally. However, whenever a Pokémon uses the move "Protect," it will block almost all moves, including "Surf" from its partner. Don't worry about speed; "Protect" is a move with increased priority, so no matter how slow your Pokémon is, and no matter how fast your partner or the opponents are, the move "Protect" will always go first! In Generation 6 (the generation of this game), "Protect" has a priority value of positive 4, so it goes before all attacking moves, including "Surf" (which has neutral priority), as well as other positive-priority moves such as "Quick Attack," "Mach Punch," and even "Extreme Speed."
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, TM 17 (Protect) can be bought at the Lilycove Department Store.
In Pokémon X and Y, you are guaranteed to have TM 17 because it is given to you as part of the cutscene. Remember that romantic moment you had with Shauna at Parfum Palace? After you and Shauna watch those fireworks, the butler of the Parfum Palace gives you TM 17, and more crucially, gives you the Poké Flute, which is vital for the next part of the story, as it is required to awaken the Snorlax on Route 7.
Don't want to spend money at the Lilycove Department Store? No problem! Simply get a second 3DS, trade your Pokémon to X/Y, then use TM 17 to teach "Protect" to that Pokémon! In X/Y, because of that cutscene, it is impossible to have more than one gym badge without having TM 17 in the bag (since Generation 6 was a time when TMs were reusable, therefore, TMs can't be lost!)
Step 2: Get a high-leveled Pokémon with "Surf." If you're playing Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, you can use the Kyogre from the main story. Make sure it is Level 100, or at the very least, strong enough to OHKO the Pokémon you are battling. If you are playing Omega Ruby and don't have a Kyogre, you can use any Water-type with "Surf," provided it is Level 100 and has a base "Special Attack" stat of 70 or higher.
Step 3: Go to the "Party" from your menu, then put your low-leveled Pokémon and the "Surf" Pokémon in the top row of the party. This ensures they will be sent out first when you initiate any Double Battle.
Step 4: Find any Double Battle that does not include "Sturdy" or "Endure" users. Do not use Teammates Anna & Meg on Route 117, for example, since the Hariyama will sometimes use "Endure," which allows it to survive with one hit point even if your "Surf" would normally OHKO it. Which Double Battles should you use? I strongly recommend either Brains & Brawn Jael & Kael on Route 119, or Gabby and Ty. Gabby and Ty can be found on Route 111, Route 118, or Route 120; make sure to check all three routes until you find them.
Step 5: Talk to one of the trainers to initiate the Double Battle.
Step 6: Have your low-leveled Pokémon use the move "Protect." Again, despite the huge difference in level and speed, "Protect" is guaranteed to go first since it has positive priority. It can be a Shuckle or a Munchlax (the slowest Pokémon in the game), and "Protect" will still go first!
Remember, Speed is totally irrelevant when moves have differing priority values. Is Shuckle faster than Ninjask? No way! Far from it! Shuckle has a "Speed" of 4 at Level 1, while Ninjask, if Level 100 and fully invested, has a "Speed" of 460, which is two orders of magnitude faster. However, if you are facing a Level 100 Ninjask, and you have a Shuckle, if the Ninjask were to use "Fury Swipes" while you use "Protect," you will go first, since "Fury Swipes" has neutral priority, and 4 > 0.
Step 7: Have your Kyogre use "Surf." Since your low-leveled ally is using "Protect" this turn, "Surf," which normally hits your ally as well as the two foes, will do zero damage to the ally. Generation 4 made the negative change to "Surf" that made it so that it now hits your ally in Double Battles, but with this great strategy, it's as if that change never happened, since your ally will remain unscathed as Kyogre goes for "Surf" and knocks out both opponents.
Step 8: After both opponents faint, you will gain 4000-5000 EXP from the battle.
Jael and Kael have a Level 53 Alakazam and Machamp, which have base EXP yields of 225 and 227, respectively. Get your calculator. The EXP you get is calculated by multiplying the level by the base EXP yield, then dividing by 7. Since both Pokémon are Level 53, you can simply add 225 and 227 to get 452, and 452 × 53 = 23,956. Divide that by 7, and you get 3,422. In a trainer battle, you get a bonus of 50%, so your actual EXP payout is 3,422 × 1.5 = 5,133. That's enough EXP to get your Level 2 Zigzagoon all the way to Level 17.
