Sicilian Defense: Dragon Variation
6. Bc4 is an older sideline, very similar to the Fischer-Sozin attack in the Najdorf and the Scheveningen. White seeks to better control d5 and exert pressure on the black king, especially the f7 square. It also keeps options open for white, on whether to transpose into the mainline Yugoslav or play a more quiet, maneuvering game. Black almost always proceeds with Bg7, looking to castle fast.
If white doesn't transpose into the Yugoslav Attack, this variation is considered not sharp enough for black, which is why it has fallen out of favour. Black gets a fantastic middlegame with a very nice pawn structure and easy plans, whereas white has no immediate pressure and doesn't use the extra tempo effectively.
It is worth noting that formally this variation doesn't have a name or separate code in the ECO. Informally, some call it the Sozin or the Italian Attack.
