Functions of Adverbs
An adverb is a word that modifies a verb, adjective, other adverbs, or various other types of words, phrases, or clauses. For example, quickly and very are adverbs, as in "I run very quickly." In Ukrainian, participles can also be adverbs.
Я смія́вся спа́вши. — I laughed, sleeping.
Однак я також дуже швидко бігаю. — However, I also run very quickly.
