M
Muddling
Gently pressing or crushing fresh ingredients like fruits, herbs (mint!), and spices in a glass with a tool called a muddler to release their essential oils, juices, and aromas, infusing them into the drink for richer flavor, common in classics like the Mojito, Caipirinha, and Old Fashioned.
The key is to press and twist gently, not pulverize, especially herbs, to avoid bitterness, stopping when you smell the flavors opening up.
