World of Warcraft/Grouping

Reference material by Wikibooks contributors. This retains its source identity and is not 411 news reporting.

Groups allow a team of players to work together and share experience and loot. The first place that you may want to use a group is a quest that requires you to kill a bunch of something. As a group you will kill them faster and all of you will get the quest credit for killing them. Another good time to group is when there are a bunch of players all waiting for the same monster to respawn so they can kill it for a quest. Creating a group You can form a group just by right clicking on another player's portrait and selecting invite from the dropdown menu. Or type /invite followed by the player's name. A group can be from 2 to 5 players, if you want to have more than 5 players start a group, and then convert to a Raid group. Party chat Members of a group can chat privately with each other by typing /p and then the message. Buffs Groups also share some buffs like Aspect of the Pack, Aspect of the Wild, and Blood pact. Locating your group Member locations show on both the mini map and the world map. Loot options There are 5 options for looting: Round Robin Free-For-All Master Looter Group Loot (default) Need Before Greed Party roles Puller Pulls one mob out for the rest to kill. Tank Takes the damage from the mob. Healer Keeps the tank healed. DPS (Damage) Kills the mob
