Hanham variation C41 Philidor defence → Hanham variation → 4. Bc4
4...Be7?
This move, developing the king's bishop to its only available square, may look natural but is a mistake.
It immediately loses at least a pawn, because after 5. dxe5 retaking the pawn in either way (...dxe5 or ...Nxe5) fails and White wins a minor piece tactically. Black's position is simply too passive to defend against the tactical threats.
