Benko Gambit A57-A59 Benoni Defence
5...g6
Black delays the recapture of a6 and prioritizes development instead. 5...g6 simply intends to develop the bishop to g7, from where it will control the a1-h8 diagonal. This also opens up the possibility for discovered attacks by moving the knight away from f6.
White usually continues /6. Nc3/ to develop a piece and prepare e4.
