Black develops their bishop, however, runs straight into 4. d4, taking the center, gaining tempo on the bishop and opening the queenside bishop to recapture the pawn on f4. Better was 3...g5, 3...Nf6 or 3...d6. 4. Bc4 and 4. Nc3 are sound options, too.
