This somewhat uncommon response to the Nimzowitsch transposes to the Vienna Game with 2...e5.
If Black wishes to avoid transposing, 2...Nf6 3. d4 d5 reaches the Vehre variation otherwise seen in the move order 1. e4 Nc6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 Nf6.
2...e6 leads to something like the French defence (the Lichess.org and Chess.com opening books call it the "French connection"), though Black's knight on c6 prevents ...c5, a usual idea in the French.
