賓陽即目書感·韋豐華
In 1865, when Wei went to Binyang 賓陽 for an examination, he encountered an area ravaged by warfare and drought. He then wrote this poem:
蒿目愁如織，鮮民不忍看。
啼飢悲載道，濟變思無端。
此輩雖爲命，伊誰正在官？
偏隅兵燹後，何計救凋殘。

灰劫鄉村不盡凋，還將故事飾蕭條。
熙熙繪出升平象，中澤哀鴻恨亦消。

紅粉平看一任人，江干分外有陽春。
