Palau

A former trust territory of the United States, the Republic of Palau gained independence in 1994.
The earliest meter found with the new country’s inscription is dated 1995 and remains the only stamp type reported so far. The inscription is “ROP POSTAGE”.
For issues before 1995, stamps of the United States were used.
