Season summary Dundee appointed Italian Ivano Bonetti as player-manager, and the midfielder managed to attract a variety of international players, most notably Argentinian World Cup star Claudio Caniggia. Dundee won the first two matches of the season to lead the table, but were unable to sustain the good form and finished the season in sixth, with the undistinguished record of only four home wins all season. Nonetheless, the club did provide supporters with memories to savour, such as wins at both Ibrox and Celtic Park, plus the signing of continental players gave supporters hope of a challenge for European qualification in seasons to come.Dundee 2000-2001 Home - statto.com http://www.statto.com/football/teams/dundee/2000-2001 https://web.archive.org/web/20131112201128/http://www.statto.com/football/teams/dundee/2000-2001 2013-11-12 live 2013-07-06 Team kit and sponsors Xara remained Dundee's kit manufacturer, and introduced a new kit for the season. The kit featured predominantly navy shorts for the first time since 1995. The socks were identical to those of the previous season's kit, while the shirt featured a thick white stripe running from the collar down the inside of the sleeves to the cuffs.Dundee - Historical Football Kits http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/Dundee/Dundee.htm https://web.archive.org/web/20130626191456/http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/Dundee/Dundee.htm 2013-06-26 live 2013-07-06 Final league table DND Results Dundee's score comes first Legend WinDrawLoss Scottish Premier League 2000–01 Scottish Premier League MatchDateOpponentVenueResultAttendanceScorers129 July 2000MotherwellA2–06,161Billio 8', Artero 86'25 August 2000Dunfermline AthleticH3–07,152Skinner 1' (o.g.), Sara 52', Caballero 55'312 August 2000HibernianA1–512,075Caballero 9'419 August 2000St MirrenA1–25,165Sara 78'527 August 2000Heart of MidlothianH1–16,779Caballero 58'69 September 2000RangersH1–110,439Sara 74'716 September 2000St JohnstoneA0–05,055820 September 2000Dundee UnitedH3–09,838Sara 47', 80', 88'923 September 2000CelticA0–159,6941030 September 2000KilmarnockH0–06,1701114 October 2000AberdeenA2–014,750Bonetti 75', Caniggia 90'1221 October 2000MotherwellH1–27,344Caniggia 21'1328 October 2000Dunfermline AthleticA0–16,397145 November 2000HibernianH1–26,604Tweed 33'1511 November 2000Dundee UnitedA2–011,454Caniggia 38', Nemsadze 73'1618 November 2000St MirrenH5–06,333Caniggia 22', 52', Rae 66', Artero 75', Milne 79'1725 November 2000Heart of MidlothianA1–311,593Carranza 24'182 December 2000St JohnstoneH1–17,014Sara 13'1910 December 2000CelticH1–210,763Boyd 55' (o.g.)2016 December 2000KilmarnockA3–26,573Bonetti 53', Milne 76', 79'2123 December 2000AberdeenH2–29,093Carranza 59', Sara 71'2226 December 2000MotherwellA3–06,183Sara 4', 69', Rae 35'232 January 2001HibernianA0–312,3792431 January 2001Dundee UnitedH2–311,724Caniggia 45', Falconer 88'253 February 2001St MirrenA1–24,197Sara 23'2621 February 2001Dunfermline AthleticH0–16,1132724 February 2001RangersH0–19,778283 March 2001St JohnstoneA3–25,064Rae 56', Sara 68', Artero 86'2914 March 2001RangersA2–045,035Caniggia 14', Milne 90'3018 March 2001Heart of MidlothianH0–07,3273131 March 2001KilmarnockH2–26,719Sara 27', Rae 47'324 April 2001CelticA1–259,562Sara 67'337 April 2001AberdeenA2–011,805Nemsadze 52', Caballero 63'3421 April 2001RangersH0–310,6873529 April 2001HibernianH0–26,659365 May 2001KilmarnockH2–16,261Sara 35', Carranza 80'3713 May 2001CelticA2–059,435Caballero 29', 42'3820 May 2001Heart of MidlothianA0–213,554 Scottish Cup 2000–01 Scottish Cup MatchDateOpponentVenueResultAttendanceScorersR327 January 2001FalkirkH0–06,400R3 Replay12 February 2001FalkirkA2–06,068Sara 71', Caniggia 84'R417 February 2001Heart of MidlothianA1–19,970Sara 30'R4 Replay7 March 2001Heart of MidlothianH0–17,155 Scottish League Cup 2000–01 Scottish League Cup MatchDateOpponentVenueResultAttendanceScorersR223 August 2000MontroseH3–02,635Wilkie 5', Caballero 56', 66'R35 September 2000St MirrenA0–33,988 First-team squad Squad at end of seasonhttp://www.footballsquads.co.uk/scots/2000-2001/scotprm/dundee.htm FootballSquads -
