It was released in April 2001 as the third and final single from her gold-selling, second studio album, Come My Way (2000). The song is inspired by Anu's hero Cathy Freeman. At a Mushroom Records press release, Anu said; "I met Cathy at the ARIA Music Awards a couple of years ago but it wasn't until I saw her in Seville... that Coz I'm Free" came together. I watched her win the World Championships and then we caught up in London not long afterwards.... She's so inspiring—her focus, how hard she trains, all that she's achieved. When I watched the race in Seville, the camera zoomed in on her tattoo and I got the idea then for a song."http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G2-3495200009.html Anu, Christine www.encyclopedia.com 2002 16 August 2016 The song peaked at number 86 on the ARIA Chart.http://www.aria.com.au/issue580.PDF https://webarchive.nla.gov.au/awa/20020220130000/http://pandora.nla.gov.au/pan/23790/20020221-0000/www.aria.com.au/issue580.PDF dead 2002-02-20 ARIA Report 9th April 2001 issue 580 ARIA 9 April 2001 15 August 2016medic Track listings CD Single (MUSH020132) Coz I'm Free" Coz I'm Free" (Illpickl's Other World Mix) "Jump to Love" (Course & Morrison Mix (Edit)) Chart positions Chart (2000/01) Peakposition Australia (ARIA) 86 Australian artist Chart (ARIA) 13 References Category:2000 songs Category:2001 singles Category:Mushroom Records singles Category:Christine Anu songs Category:Songs written by Stuart Crichton Category:Songs written by Christine Anu
