League expansion At the end of the season it was announced that the 2013–14 season would feature 14 teams. The decision to increase the numbers of teams means Al-Sailiya – who finished bottom of the league – would avoid relegation. Meanwhile, Muaither – who lost to Al-Arabi in the play-offs – would join as the 14th team. The Second Division and the reserve league would also merge to create a stronger second tier.QSL SET TO EXPAND الغرافة والإدارة تشكره http://www.qsl.com.qa/users/newsen/NewsDetailsNew.aspx?pid=1385 QSL 7 May 2013 7 May 2013 https://archive.today/20130705202123/http://www.qsl.com.qa/users/newsen/NewsDetailsNew.aspx?pid=1385 2013-07-05 dead League table main WDL QR SAD Al Sadd LEK Lekhwiya JAI El Jaish RAY Al-Rayyan UMM Umm Salal GHA Al-Gharafa KHO Al-Khor QSC Qatar SC WAK Al-Wakrah KHA Al Kharaitiyat ARA Al-Arabi SAI Al-Sailiya 16 3 3 47 23 C 14 4 4 42 22 13 1 8 25 23 11 4 7 49 37 9 4 9 30 37 8 6 8 26 28 7 8 7 26 24 7 5 10 31 34 7 5 10 27 31 4 8 10 21 27 3 8 11 25 40 3 4 15 29 52 R #ACE1AF 2014 AFC Champions League Group stage CLGS CLGS #D0F0C0 2014 AFC Champions League Qualifying play-off CLQP CLQP #FFE6E6 Promotion/relegation playoff RP #FFCCCC Relegation R 1) points; 2) goal difference; 3) number of goals scored. 18 April 2013 RSSSF Relegation playoff 18 April 2013 18:45 (UTC+03:00) Al-Arabi QAT 2–1 https://archive.today/20130705212347/http://www.qsl.com.qa/users/newsen/NewsDetailsNew.aspx?pid=1340 Report Summary QAT Muaither Spiranovic 23 Al Oraimi 82 Laitoula 44 pen.
