Fourteen athletes qualified at 4.55, but two were unable to get over the opening height of 4.50 in the finals. Minna Nikkanen set her National Record at 4.60, but there were still seven in at 4.70, five of them with clean rounds to that point making for a five-way tie including Angelica Bengtsson's National Record and returning silver medalist Jenn Suhr, who had confidently passed to 4.60. 4.80 decided the medalists with Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou taking it on the first attempt to take over the lead. 2011 champion Fabiana Murer took it on her second attempt and was ahead of Yarisley Silva who had struggled earlier at 4.70. Both Silva and Murer made 4.85 on their first attempt, giving Murer the lead. Murer also again equalled her own South American record. Kyriakopoulou missed at what would have been her National Record. Having no strategic advantage to clearing it with one miss, she passed to 4.90. Everybody missed their first two attempts at 4.90, making Kyriakopoulou the bronze medalist. On her final attempt, Silva made it, to leap past Murer into gold medal position. Murer was unable to answer on her final attempt and had to settle for silver. Murer was pleased to win a medal in Beijing seven years after the 2008 Olympics, where she underperformed following her poles being misplaced by the organization, and became optimistic for the 2016 Summer Olympics at her own Brazil, when she will have to set a masters world record to be in the medal hunt. http://www.iaaf.org/competitions/iaaf-world-championships/15th-iaaf-world-championships-4875/news/report/women/pole-vault/final REPORT: WOMEN'S POLE VAULT FINAL – IAAF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, BEIJING 2015 26 August 2015 iaaf.org 27 August 2015https://olimpiadas.uol.com.br/noticias/2015/08/26/fabiana-murer-esquece-trauma-do-ninho-do-passaro-e-e-prata-em-pequim.htm Murer esquece trauma na China, iguala melhor marca e é prata no Mundial UOL pt 26 August 2015 26 August 2015 Records Prior to the competition, the established records were as follows.http://www.iaaf.org/records/by-discipline/jumps/pole-vault/outdoor/women Records & Lists – Pole Vault IAAF 14 August 2015 World recordYelena Isinbayeva RUS5.06Zürich, Switzerland28 August 2009Championship recordYelena Isinbayeva RUS5.01Helsinki, Finland12 August 2005World leadingYarisley Silva CUB4.91Beckum, Germany2 August 2015African recordElmarie Gerryts RSA4.42Wesel, Germany12 June 2000Asian recordLi Ling CHN4.66Wuhan, China6 June 2015North, Central American and Caribbean recordJennifer Suhr USA4.92Eugene, OR, United States6 July 2008South American recordFabiana Murer BRA4.85San Fernando, Spain4 June 2010European recordYelena Isinbayeva RUS5.06Zürich, Switzerland28 August 2009Oceanian recordAlana Boyd AUS4.76Perth, Australia24 February 2012 Qualification standards Entry standards 2014 IAAF World Championships Beijing 2015 – Standards https://media.aws.iaaf.org/competitioninfo/544c7d0a-0807-4226-a85b-79928c58a097.pdf IAAF 18 August 2015 4.50 Schedule Date Time Round24 August 2015 09:30 Qualification26 August 2015 19:00 Final All times are local times (UTC+8) Results KEY:QQualifiedq12 best performersNRNational recordPBPersonal bestSBSeasonal best Qualification Qualification: 4.60 m (Q) or at least 12 best performers (q).Qualification results Rank Group Name Nationality 4.15 4.30 4.45 4.55 Mark Notes 1 B Angelica Bengtsson SWE 2015 World – o o o 4.55 q 1 A Fabiana Murer BRA 2015 World – – – o 4.55 q 1 B Holly Bradshaw GBR 2015 World – o o o 4.55 q, SB 1 A Martina Strutz GER 2015 World – o o o 4.55 q 1 A Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou GRE 2015 World – – o o 4.55 q 6 B Lisa Ryzih GER 2015 World – – xo o 4.55 q 6 B Minna Nikkanen FIN 2015 World o o xo o 4.55 q 6 A Michaela Meijer SWE 2015 World o o xo o 4.55 q, PB 9 B Jenn Suhr USA 2015 World – – – xo 4.55 q 9 B Yarisley Silva CUB 2015 World – – o xo 4.55 q 11 A Li Ling CHN 2015 World – o o xxo 4.55 q 11 A Sandi Morris USA 2015 World – o o xxo 4.55 q 11 B Alana Boyd AUS 2015 World – – o xxo 4.55 q 11 B Anzhelika Sidorova RUS 2015 World – – o xxo 4.55 q 15 B Katerina Stefanidi GRE 2015 World – xo o xxx 4.45 16 A Naroa Agirre ESP 2015 World xo xxo o xxx 4.45 17 A Nicole Büchler SUI 2015 World – o xxo xxx 4.45 17 A Silke Spiegelburg GER 2015 World – o xxo xxx 4.45 19 B Demi Payne USA 2015 World – o xxx 4.30 20 A Tori Pena IRL 2015 World xo o xxx 4.30 21 B Femke Pluim NED 2015 World – xo xxx 4.30 21 A Marion Lotout FRA 2015 World – xo xxx 4.30 23 A Robeilys Peinado VEN 2015 World xo xo xxx 4.30 24 B Malin Dahlström SWE 2015 World o xxx 4.15 25 B Angelica Moser SUI 2015 World xxo xxx 4.15 25 B Ren Mengqian CHN 2015 World xxo xxx 4.15 27 A Jiřina Ptáčníková CZE 2015 World – xxx 0.00 NM 27 A Nina Kennedy AUS 2015 World xxx 0.00 NM 27 B Tina Šutej SLO 2015 World – xxx 0.00 NM Final The final was started at 19:00.Final results Rank Name Nationality 4.35 4.50 4.60 4.70 4.80 4.85 4.90 5.01 Mark Notes Yarisley Silva CUB 2015 World – o o xxo xo o xxo xxx 4.90 Fabiana Murer BRA 2015 World – o o o xo o xxx 4.85 =AR South American Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou GRE 2015 World – o xo xo o x- xx 4.80 04 4 Sandi Morris USA 2015 World o o o o xxx 4.70 04 4 Angelica Bengtsson SWE 2015 World o o o o xxx 4.70 NR Swedish 04 4 Jenn Suhr USA 2015 World – – o o xxx 4.70 07 7 Holly Bradshaw GBR 2015 World o o xo o xxx 4.70 SB 08 8 Martina Strutz GER 2015 World o o o xxx 4.60 09 9 Li Ling CHN 2015 World xo o o xxx 4.60 10 Minna Nikkanen FIN 2015 World xo xo o xxx 4.60 NR Finnish 11 Alana Boyd AUS 2015 World xo o xo xxx 4.60 12 Lisa Ryzih GER 2015 World – o xxo xxx 4.60 99 Anzhelika Sidorova RUS 2015 World – xxx NM 99 Michaela Meijer SWE 2015 World xxx NM References Pole vault Category:Pole vault at the World Athletics Championships
