2012 Algarve Cup

International women's football tournament August 2014 2012 Algarve Cup Portugal 29 February – 7 March 12 3 9 9 GER 2 JPN USA SWE 24 62 GER Célia Okoyino da Mbabi(6 goals) JPN Aya Miyama 2011 2013 The 2012 Algarve Cup was the nineteenth edition of the Algarve Cup, an invitational women's football tournament held annually in Portugal. It began on 29 February and ended on 7 March 2012. Format The twelve invited teams were split into three groups that played a round-robin tournament. Groups A and B, containing the strongest ranked teams, were the only ones in contention to win the title. The group winners from A and B contested the final, with the runners-up playing for third place and those that finished third in these two groups playing for fifth place. The teams in Group C were playing for places 7–12, with the winner of Group C playing the team that finished fourth in Group A or B with the better record for seventh place and the Group C runner-up playing the team which came last in Group A or B with the worse record for ninth place. The third and fourth-placed teams in Group C played for the eleventh place. Points awarded in the group stage followed the standard formula of three points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. In the case of two teams being tied on the same number of points in a group, their head-to-head result determined the higher place. Teams Listed are the confirmed teams.DFB-Elf wieder beim Algarve Cup dabei Markus Juchem http://www.womensoccer.de/2011/10/04/dfb-elf-wieder-beim-algarve-cup-dabei/ Womensoccer 4 October 2011 4 October 2011 de https://web.archive.org/web/20160408021459/http://www.womensoccer.de/2011/10/04/dfb-elf-wieder-beim-algarve-cup-dabei/ 8 April 2016 dead Team FIFA Rankings(December 2011) USA 1 GER 2 JPN 3 SWE 5 DEN 12 NOR ISL 15 CHN 18 IRL 29 HUN 34 POR (hosts) 43 WAL 46 Match officials Country Referee Assistant refereesARG ArgentinaSalomé di IorioCHN China PRLiang QinYongmei CuiYan FangCUB CubaIrazema AguileraCZE Czech RepublicJana AdámkováAdriana ŠecováHUN HungaryKatalin KulcsárITA ItalyCarina VitulanoManuela NicolosiJPN JapanNami SatoEmi ChibaChie OhataMEX MexicoLucila VenegasEnedina CaudilloSCO ScotlandMorag PirieSIN SingaporeAbirami ApbaiSWE SwedenPernilla LarssonTOG TogoAissata AmegeeUSA United StatesMargaret Domka Country Assistant refereesCAN CanadaMarie-Josée CharbonneauCOL ColombiaLuzmila GonzalezCRC Costa RicaKimberly MoreiraCRO CroatiaSanja RodakCYP CyprusAngela KyriakouDOM Dominican RepublicMilagros LeonardoENG EnglandSian MasseyGUA GuatemalaMarisol SalazarJAM JamaicaStacey GreysonPAR ParaguayNadia WeilerROU RomaniaPetruta IugulsecuSUI SwitzerlandEveline BolliTHA ThailandSupawan HinthongUGA UgandaDiana MukasaVIE VietnamThi Kieu Country Fourth officialARG ArgentinaSalomé di IorioCHN China PRLiang QinCUB CubaIrazema AguileraCZE Czech RepublicJana AdámkováHUN HungaryKatalin KulcsárITA ItalyCarina VitulanoJPN JapanNami SatoMEX MexicoLucila VenegasSCO ScotlandMorag PirieSIN SingaporeAbirami ApbaiSWE SwedenPernilla LarssonTOG TogoAissata AmegeeUSA United StatesMargaret Domka Squads 2012 Algarve Cup squads Group stage All times are local (WET/UTC+0).
