Overview Colchester United, relegated from the Fourth Division two years earlier, regained their Football League status by winning the Conference title. However, as had happened a year earlier, there was no relegation from the Football League to the Conference due to an expansion of the Football League – which was ultimately never completed due to the bankruptcy of Aldershot late in the 1991–92 season and then Maidstone United (1897) at the start of the 1992–93 season. New teams in the league this season Farnborough Town (promoted 1990–91) Redbridge Forest (promoted 1990–91) Witton Albion (promoted 1990–91) Final league table main WDL 5 PR COL Colchester United WYC Wycombe Wanderers KET Kettering Town MER Merthyr Tydfil FAR Farnborough Town TEL Telford United RED Redbridge Forest BOS Boston United BAT Bath City WTN Witton Albion NOR Northwich Victoria WEL Welling United MAC Macclesfield Town GAT Gateshead YEO Yeovil Town RUN Runcorn STA Stafford Rangers ALT Altrincham KID Kidderminster Harriers SLO Slough Town CHL Cheltenham Town BRW Barrow 28 10 4 98 40 30 4 8 84 35 20 13 9 72 50 18 14 10 59 56 18 12 12 68 53 19 7 16 62 66 18 9 15 69 56 18 9 15 71 66 16 12 14 54 51 16 10 16 63 60 16 6 20 63 58 14 12 16 69 79 13 13 16 50 50 12 12 18 49 57 11 14 17 40 49 11 13 18 50 63 10 16 16 41 59 11 12 19 61 82 12 9 21 56 77 13 6 23 56 82 10 13 19 56 82 8 14 20 52 72 CP R R green1 Promotion to the Football League Third Division CP Merged into Dagenham & Redbridge At the end of the season, Redbridge Forest merged with Dagenham of the Isthmian League Premier Division to form Dagenham & Redbridge, with the new club taking Redbridge Forest's place in the Football Conference.
