With this, official Indian maps stopped showing Bhutan as part of India and began depicting it as a separate country. The coming into force of the new treaty in 2011 also removed the requirement for Bhutan to obtain India’s permission for arms imports.Treaty or Perpetual Peace and Friendship https://www.mea.gov.in/bilateral-documents.htm?dtl/5242/treaty+or+perpetual+p https://web.archive.org/web/20240615053324/https://www.mea.gov.in/bilateral-documents.htm?dtl/5242/treaty+or+perpetual+p 2024-06-15 2026-05-01 Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India en-US 6 January -
