2012 Garmin–Sharp season

Cycling team season 2012 Garmin–Sharp season Manager Jonathan Vaughters One-day victories 2 Stage race overall victories 3 Stage race stage victories 15 Previous season • Next season The 2012 season for the GRM 2012b cycling team began in January at the Tour Down Under. As a UCI ProTeam, they were automatically invited and obligated to send a squad to every event in the UCI World Tour. Ahead of the season, the team again changed names – for the fifth time in as many years – from Garmin–Cervélo to Garmin-Barracuda, after Barracuda Networks joined the team as its co-sponsor. Despite giving up the team's second name, Cervélo remains with the team as its official bicycle supplier.http://www.slipstreamsports.com/2012/01/11/team-garmin-cervelo-officially-renamed-team-garmin-barracuda Team Garmin–Cervélo Officially Renamed Team Garmin-Barracuda January 11, 2012 January 17, 2012 GRM 2012a Slipstream Sports LLC Boulder, Colorado; Campbell, California https://archive.today/20120912130836/http://www.slipstreamsports.com/2012/01/11/team-garmin-cervelo-officially-renamed-team-garmin-barracuda 2012-09-12 dead Before the Tour de France, the team acquired Sharp as a secondary title sponsor, with the team's name becoming Garmin–Sharp for UCI designation, although retaining Barracuda for the team's own publications as Garmin–Sharp–Barracuda.http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/garmin-sharp-replaces-garmin-barracuda-at-the-tour-de-france Cycling News June 25, 2012 June 26, 2012 Garmin-Sharp replaces Garmin-Barracuda at the Tour de Francehttp://www.velonation.com/News/ID/12206/Sharp-joins-Slipstream-Sports-as-co-sponsor-of-Team-Garmin.aspx Ben Atkins VeloNation June 25, 2012 June 26, 2012 Sharp joins Slipstream Sports as co-sponsor of Team Garmin 2012 roster Ages as of January 1, 2012.http://www.slipstreamsports.com/2011/11/18/team-garmin-cervelo-unveils-2012-mens-pro-team-roster Team Garmin-Cervélo unveils 2012 men’s Pro Team roster November 18, 2011 January 17, 2012 GRM 2011 Slipstream Sports LLC Boulder, Colorado https://web.archive.org/web/20120118151252/http://www.slipstreamsports.com/2011/11/18/team-garmin-cervelo-unveils-2012-mens-pro-team-roster 2012-01-18 dead Jack Bauer NZL 2012 1 1 1985 4 7 Tom Danielson USA 2012 1 1 1978 3 13 Thomas Dekker NED 2012 1 1 1984 9 6 Tyler Farrar USA 2012 1 1 1984 6 2 Koldo Fernández ESP 2012 1 1 1981 9 13 Murilo Fischer BRA 2012 1 1 1979 6 17 Nathan Haas AUS 2012 1 1 1989 3 12 Heinrich Haussler AUS 2012 1 1 1984 2 25 Ryder Hesjedal CAN 2012 1 1 1980 12 9 Alex Howes USA 2012 1 1 1988 1 1 Robert Hunter RSA 2012 1 1 1977 4 22 Andreas Klier GER 2012 1 1 1976 1 15 Michel Kreder NED 2012 1 1 1987 8 15 Raymond Kreder NED 2012 1 1 1989 11 26 Christophe Le Mével FRA 2012 1 1 1980 9 11 Martijn Maaskant NED 2012 1 1 1983 7 27 Dan Martin IRE 2012 1 1 1986 8 20 David Millar GBR 2012 1 1 1977 1 4 Lachlan MortonMorton joined the team on August 1, as a stagiaire, from Chipotle-First Solar.http://www.uciworldtour.com/Modules/SUCI/TEAMS/TeamDetails.asp?id=OTk&RefDate=01.08.2012&MenuId=MTYzMDE&LangId=1&BackLink=%2Ftemplates%2FUCI%2FUCI2%2Flayout%2Easp%3FMenuId%3DMTYzMDE%26LangId%3D1 Garmin-Sharp (GRS) – USA August 1, 2012 UCI World Tour Union Cycliste Internationale "N" AUS 2012 1 1 1992 1 2 Ramūnas Navardauskas LTU 2012 1 1 1988 1 30 Thomas Peterson USA 2012 1 1 1986 12 24 Alex RasmussenRasmussen was fired by the team on July 4, following his backdated 18-month ban for violating the whereabouts system for anti-doping.http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/12289/Garmin-Sharp-releases-Alex-Rasmussen-following-CAS-whereabouts-suspension.aspx Garmin-Sharp releases Alex Rasmussen following CAS whereabouts suspension July 4, 2012 July 4, 2012 VeloNation Shane Stokes "N" DEN 2012 1 1 1984 6 9 Jacob Rathe USA 2012 1 1 1991 3 13 Sébastien Rosseler BEL 2012 1 1 1981 7 15 Tom ScullyScully joined the team on August 1, as a stagiaire, from Chipotle-First Solar.
