The team, coached by fourth-year head coach Steve Sarkisian, was a member of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference. The Huskies played their home games at CenturyLink Field in Seattle due to renovations at their normal on-campus home of Husky Stadium, also in Seattle. They finished the season 7–6, 5–4 in Pac-12 play to finish in fourth place in the North Division. They were invited to the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas where they were defeated by Boise State. Offseason Following the Alamo Bowl coach Sarkisian fired nearly all of his defensive coaches, deciding to retain only defensive line coach/special teams coordinator Johnny Nansen. Shortly thereafter, offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier left the program to accept a similar position at Alabama. Sarkisian filled his defensive staff with Justin Wilcox as defensive coordinator, Peter Sirmon as linebackers coach, Tosh Lupoi as defensive line coach, and Keith Heyward as defensive backs coach. He filled the open offensive coordinator position with former Cal assistant Eric Kiesau. Junior offensive lineman Colin Porter, who had started 19 games in two seasons, was forced to retire from football due to degenerative arthritis in both of his shoulders.Colin Porter's Career Over Bob Condotta http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/huskyfootballblog/2017945129_colin_porters_career_over.html The Seattle Times April 9, 2012 August 26, 2012 Schedule 2012 AP Pacific September 1 7:30 p.m. w y San Diego State CenturyLink Field Seattle, WA P12N 21–12 53,742 September 8 4:00 p.m. l y y LSU 3 Tiger Stadium Baton Rouge, LA ESPN 3–41 92,804 September 15 1:00 p.m. w y Portland State CenturyLink Field Seattle, WA FX 52–13 54,922 September 27, 2012 6:00 p.m. w Stanford 8 CenturyLink Field Seattle, WA ESPN 17–13 55,941 October 6 7:30 p.m. l y 23 Oregon 2 Autzen Stadium Eugene, OR rivalry ESPN 21–52 58,792 October 13 4:00 p.m. l USC 13 CenturyLink Field Seattle, WA FOX 14–24 66,202 October 20 7:00 p.m. l y Arizona Arizona Stadium Tucson, AZ P12N 17–52 50,148 October 27 7:15 p.m. w y Oregon State 7 CenturyLink Field Seattle, WA P12N 20–17 60,842 November 2 6:00 p.m. w y California California Memorial Stadium Berkeley, CA ESPN2 21–13 42,226 November 10 7:30 p.m. w Utah CenturyLink Field Seattle, WA P12N 34–15 60,050 November 17 10:30 a.m. w y 25 Colorado Folsom Field Boulder, CO FX 38–3 43,148 November 23, 2012 12:30 p.m. l y 25 Washington State Martin Stadium Pullman, WA Apple Cup FOX 28–31 OT 30,544 December 22 12:30 p.m. l y y Boise State 20 Sam Boyd Stadium Whitney, NV Maaco Bowl Las Vegas ESPN 26–28 33,217 Rankings 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football rankings 15 6 7 RV RV RV RV NR RV NR RV NR RV 23 RV NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR NR RV RV RV 25 RV RV RV 25 NR NR RV NR NR NR NR NR Weekly starters The following players were the weekly offensive and defensive game starters.Press release http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/wash/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2012-13/release/release.pdf gohuskies.com December 29, 2022 https://web.archive.org/web/20160304113329/http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/wash/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2012-13/release/release.pdf March 4, 2016 Opponent WR LT LG C RG RT TE QB TB FB WR San Diego State Williams Hatchie Tanigawa Schaefer Kohler Riva Seferian-Jenkins Price Callier Hartvigson# Mickens at LSU Williams Hatchie Tanigawa Schaefer Atoe Kohler Seferian-Jenkins Price Sankey Taylor^ Smith Portland State Williams Hatchie Charles Schaefer Atoe Criste Seferian-Jenkins Price Sankey Hudson# Campbell Stanford Williams Hatchie Charles Schaefer Brostek Atoe Seferian-Jenkins Price Sankey Hartvigson# Campbell at Oregon Williams Hatchie Charles Schaefer Brostek Atoe Seferian-Jenkins Price Sankey E.
