The tournament determined the four CONCACAF teams that participated at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Colombia. In addition, the top three finishers from Central America or the Caribbean, in addition to hosts Mexico, qualified to participate at the 2011 Pan American Games. The Executive Committee approved that for men's U-20 championships all three North American teams again qualified automatically for the finals. Central America received four berths, and the Caribbean received five. The new allocations give Central America one more berth than it had in 2009 and the Caribbean three more.CONCACAF.com – Men's youth, women's tournaments expanded https://web.archive.org/web/20110610224116/http://www.concacaf.com/page/ConfederationDetail/0,,12813~2030435,00.html 2011-06-10 – 20 April 2010 On 1 September 2010 CONCACAF announced Guatemala as host of the championship, played from 3–17 April.CONCACAF.com – Guatemala to host U-20 finals; Jamaica gets U-17s https://web.archive.org/web/20110610230144/http://www.concacaf.com/page/Under20s/NewsDetail/0,,12813~2142112,00.html 2011-06-10 – 1 September 2010 The championship was scheduled to be held a week later but was moved ahead one week due to a scheduling conflict.http://www.concacaf.com/page/Under20s/NewsDetail/0,,12813~2289452,00.html CONCACAF U-20s to start earlier, draw set 2011-02-10 https://web.archive.org/web/20110807101932/http://www.concacaf.com/page/Under20s/NewsDetail/0,,12813~2289452,00.html 2011-08-07 dead Qualified teams 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship qualifying Region Qualification Tournament Qualifiers Caribbean (CFU) Caribbean U-20 qualifying tournament 20 JAM 20 GLP20 CUB20 TRI 20 SUR Central America (UNCAF) Central American U-20 qualifying tournament 20 GUA (hosts) 20 PAN 20 HON 1949 20 CRC North America (NAFU) Automatically qualified 20 CAN20 MEX20 USA Squads 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship squads Venues The tournament was hosted in two stadium.
