Twelve out of the 21 seats in the Nevada Senate were up for election, including two special elections in District 9 and District 13 for the remaining two years of Republican Elizabeth Helgelien's and Democrat Sheila Leslie's terms following their resignations in 2012. The primary was held on June 12, 2012. Prior to the election, 11 seats were held by Democrats and 10 seats were held by Republicans. The general election saw neither party gain nor lose any seats, thereby meaning that Democrats retained their majority in the State Senate.https://ballotpedia.org/Nevada_State_Senate_elections,_2012 Nevada State Senate elections, 2012 ballotpedia.org December 4, 2025https://www.nvsos.gov/silverstate2012gen/NVSenate/ Nevada State Senate nvsos.gov December 4, 2025 Predictions SourceRankingAs of GoverningDaigneau Elizabeth Jacobson Louis October 24, 2012 The Latest Chamber-by-Chamber Analysis of the 2012 State Legislative Elections https://www.governing.com/archive/gov-latest-chamber-by-chamber-analysis-2012-state-legislative-elections.html live https://web.archive.org/web/20210224195701/https://www.governing.com/archive/gov-latest-chamber-by-chamber-analysis-2012-state-legislative-elections.html February 24, 2021 December 4, 2025 Governing en | Tossup October 24, 2012 Retirements Democrats District 3: Valerie Wiener was term-limited.
