2009 ITU Triathlon World Cup

The 2009 ITU Triathlon World Cup was a series of triathlon races organised by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) for elite-level triathletes to be held during the 2009 season. For 2009, five races were announced as part of the World Cup series. Each race was held over a distance of 1500 m swim, 40 km cycle, 10 km run (an Olympic-distance triathlon). Alongside a prize purse, points were awarded at each race contributing towards the overall ITU Triathlon World Championships point totals; which was a change in format to the World Cup series of prior years. The number of world cup races in 2009 were reduced as the ITU shifted focus to the Championship Series.http://www.slowtwitch.com/News/ITU_replaces_one-day_Elite_World_Championship_with_new_six-race_Super_Series__520.html ITU replaces one-day Elite World Championship with new six-race ‘Super Series’ Carlson Timothy 12 September 2008 Slowtwitch.com 26 August 2010 Venues, dates and prize purses DateCityCountyPrize purse (US$)Mar 29Mooloolaba80,000Apr 26IshigakiJun 28Des Moines1,000,000http://www.everymantri.com/everyman_triathlon/2009/06/one-million-prize-purse-for-weekend-des-moines-itu-hyvee-world-cup-triathlon.html One million prize purse for weekend Des Moines ITU Hy-Vee World Cup Triathlon EverymanTri.com 26 June 2009 22 August 2011Aug 9Tiszaújváros80,000Nov 8Huatulco80,000 Event results Mooloolaba PlaceMenWomenNameNationTimeNameNationTimeImage:Gold medal icon.svgCourtney Atkinson1:52:05Kirsten Sweetland2:02:00Image:Silver medal icon.svgKris Gemmell1:52:17Emma Moffatt2:02:55Image:Bronze medal icon.svgBrad Kahlefeldt1:52:51Daniela Ryf2:03:03Source:http://www.triathlon.org/results/event/2009_mooloolaba_itu_triathlon_world_cup/1379/ Results for 2009 Mooloolaba ITU Triathlon World Cup 16 November 2011 International Triathlon Union Ishigaki PlaceMenWomenNameNationTimeNameNationTimeImage:Gold medal icon.svgCourtney Atkinson1:48:24Juri Ide2:03:32Image:Silver medal icon.svgIvan Vasiliev1:49:01Kathy Tremblay2:03:37Image:Bronze medal icon.svgDenis Vasiliev1:49:22Kiyomi Niwata2:03:54Source:http://www.triathlon.org/results/event/2009_ishigaki_itu_triathlon_world_cup/1380/ Results for 2009 Ishigaki ITU Triathlon World Cup 16 November 2011 International Triathlon Union Des Moines Hy-Vee Triathlon PlaceMenWomenNameNationTimeNameNationTimeImage:Gold medal icon.svgSimon Whitfield1:49:43Emma Moffatt1:59:46Image:Silver medal icon.svgBrad Kahlefeldt1:49:44Emma Snowsill2:01:19Image:Bronze medal icon.svgJan Frodeno1:49:44Lauren Groves2:01:31Source:http://www.triathlon.org/results/event/2009_hy-vee_itu_triathlon_elite_cup/1385/ Available Results for 2009 Hy-Vee ITU Triathlon Elite Cup 16 November 2011 International Triathlon Union Tiszaújváros PlaceMenWomenNameNationTimeNameNationTimeImage:Gold medal icon.svgDmitry Polyanski1:48:46Kate McIlroy2:00:48Image:Silver medal icon.svgAlexander Brukhankov 1:48:55Irina Abysova2:00:52Image:Bronze medal icon.svgIvan Tutukin 1:49:50Felicity Sheedy-Ryan2:01:24Source:http://www.triathlon.org/results/event/2009_tiszaujvaros_itu_triathlon_world_cup/1388/ Results for 2009 Tiszaújváros ITU Triathlon World Cup 16 November 2011 International Triathlon Union Huatulco PlaceMenWomenNameNationTimeNameNationTimeImage:Gold medal icon.svgMatt Chrabot1:57:22Ai Ueda2:12:47Image:Silver medal icon.svgRuedi Wild1:59:32Helle Frederiksen2:13:12Image:Bronze medal icon.svgJarrod Shoemaker2:01:02Jessica Harrison2:13:29Source:http://www.triathlon.org/results/event/2009_huatulco_itu_triathlon_world_cup/1391/ Results for 2009 Huatulco ITU Triathlon World Cup 16 November 2011 International Triathlon Union See also ITU Triathlon World Championships References External links http://archive.triathlon.org/?call=TVRBMA%253D%253D&keep=sh&evt=&typ=&ctg=3&cntry=&rgn=&yr=MjAwOQ%3D%3D&MM_filter=frmFilters&Submit=Filter+Events ITU Official Website: All Events List: 2009 World Cup Series 2008-12-18 International Triathlon Union https://web.archive.org/web/20110726235316/http://archive.triathlon.org/?call=TVRBMA%3D%3D&keep=sh&evt=&typ=&ctg=3&cntry=&rgn=&yr=MjAwOQ==&MM_filter=frmFilters&Submit=Filter+Events 2011-07-26 dead 2009 World Cup
