64th season of Danish 1st Division File:Viasat_Divisionen_2007.svg Danish 1st Division 2008–09 2007–08 2009–10 The 2008–09 Danish 1st Division (known as the Viasat Divisionen due to sponsorship by Viasat) season marked the 13th season of the league operating as the second tier of Danish football and the 769th season overall under the 1st Division name. The league is governed by the Danish Football Association (DBU). The division-champion and runner-up will be promoted to the 2009–10 Danish Superliga. The teams in the 14th, 15th and 16th places will be divided between 2nd Division East and West, based on location. On 3 February, Køge Boldklub declared bankruptcy. As a result, they were docked three points and were suspended from the tournament. Furthermore, they will be relegated two levels in addition to the one they have clinched at the moment, making them participate in Sjællandsserien from the 2009–10 season.http://www.dbu.dk/news/newsShow.aspx?id=250601 Køge Boldklub suspenderet 2009-02-22 Ebbesen Peter February 6, 2009 Dansk Boldspil-Union Danish https://web.archive.org/web/20090208104520/http://dbu.dk/news/newsShow.aspx?id=250601 8 February 2009 live On 14 February, however, it was announced that First Division clubs Køge Boldklub and Herfølge Boldklub intended to merge their first teams to form HB Køge,http://www.bold.dk/nyt/HB-Koege-endelig-en-realitet HB Køge endelig en realitet 2009-02-22 Helmin Jesper February 14, 2009 bold.dk Danish https://web.archive.org/web/20090218134848/http://www.bold.dk/nyt/HB-Koege-endelig-en-realitet 18 February 2009 live and on 14 March, the club was approved by the Danish FA.http://dbu.dk/news/newsShow.aspx?id=250817 DBU godkender HB Køge 2009-03-15 Berendt Lars March 14, 2009 Danish FA Danish https://web.archive.org/web/20090418020844/http://dbu.dk/news/newsShow.aspx?id=250817 18 April 2009 dead Participants Denmark right 400 Locations of the Danish 1st Division 2008–09 teams Denmark 55.7328 12.4967 AB left Denmark 55.646956 12.511847 Frem right Denmark 55.650044 12.602123 FCA bottom Denmark 55.57825 9.7286 FC Fredericia right Denmark 55.6372 12.073 FCR left Denmark 55.413578 12.134153 Herfølge BK bottom Denmark 55.631922 12.482878 HIF left Denmark 55.494167 9.459167 Kolding FC bottom Denmark 55.467875 12.175356 Køge BK left Denmark 54.771131 11.877667 LFA right Denmark 55.78134 12.505628 LBK right Denmark 55.2231 11.7664 Næstved BK bottom Denmark 56.157884 9.553278 Silkeborg IF right Denmark 56.568236 9.037894 Skive IK right Denmark 56.968817 8.702278 Thisted FC right Denmark 56.455922 9.401915 Viborg FF right ClubFinishing positionlast seasonFirst season ofcurrent spell in1st DivisionAB6th2004–05BK Frem11th2004–05FC Amager2nd in 2nd Division East2008–09FC Fredericia5th2001–02FC Roskilde1st in 2nd Division East2008–09Herfølge BK4th2005–06Hvidovre IF9th2007–08Kolding FC7th2005–06Køge BK13th2003–04Lyngby BK12th in Superliga2008–09Lolland-Falster Alliancen12th2007–08Næstved BK8th2006–07Silkeborg IF3rd2007–08Skive IK10th2007–08Thisted FC1st in 2nd Division West2008–09Viborg FF11th in Superliga2008–09 League table main WDL PR HB Herfølge Boldklub SIL Silkeborg IF AB AB VFF Viborg FF NÆS Næstved BK LYN Lyngby Boldklub FCF Fredericia HVI Hvidovre IF TFC Thisted FC FCR FC Roskilde FRE Frem KFC Kolding FC SIK Skive IK B01 LFA FCA Amager KØGE Køge BK 22 5 3 77 27 P 21 6 3 68 27 P 19 4 7 56 29 17 3 10 59 40 14 10 6 55 34 14 8 8 50 26 13 8 9 58 43 11 7 12 51 46 10 9 11 54 49 12 3 15 45 53 8 12 10 41 53 9 9 12 45 59 9 7 14 49 57 4 3 23 25 66 R 2 8 19 24 72 -3 R 1 4 24 11 86 -3 R Køge BK & FC Amager declared bankruptcy and was docked 3 points as a result.
