It was the last Wimbledon Championships held at the original Worple Road location, and it was also the last time the challenge round system was used at Wimbledon. From 1922 onward, the reigning champion would no longer play a single match, the Challenge Round, against the winner of the all-comers tournament to decide the championship but, like every other player, would have to play from the beginning of the tournament.Barrett John Wimbledon : The Official History of the Championships 2001 CollinsWillow London 0007117078 54–59,286 Finals Men's singles 1921 Wimbledon Championships – Men's singles USA 1912 Bill Tilden defeated RSA 1912 Brian Norton, 4–6, 2–6, 6–1, 6–0, 7–5 Gentlemen's Singles Finals 1877-2016 http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/roll_of_honour/gentlemenssingles.html wimbledon.com Wimbledon Championships 29 June 2017 Women's singles 1921 Wimbledon Championships – Women's singles FRA Suzanne Lenglen defeated USA 1912 Elizabeth Ryan, 6–2, 6–0 Ladies' Singles Finals 1884-2016 http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/roll_of_honour/ladiessingles.html wimbledon.com Wimbledon Championships 29 June 2017 Men's doubles 1921 Wimbledon Championships – Men's doubles GBR Randolph Lycett / GBR Max Woosnam defeated GBR Arthur Lowe / GBR Gordon Lowe, 6–3, 6–0, 7–5 Gentlemen's Doubles Finals 1884-2016 http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/roll_of_honour/gentlemensdoubles.html wimbledon.com Wimbledon Championships 29 June 2017 Women's doubles 1921 Wimbledon Championships – Women's doubles FRA Suzanne Lenglen / USA 1912 Elizabeth Ryan defeated GBR Winifred Beamish / RSA 1912 Irene Peacock, 6–1, 6–2 Ladies' Doubles Finals 1913-2016 http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/roll_of_honour/ladiesdoubles.html wimbledon.com Wimbledon Championships 29 June 2017 Mixed doubles 1921 Wimbledon Championships – Mixed doubles GBR Randolph Lycett / USA 1912 Elizabeth Ryan defeated GBR Max Woosnam / GBR Phyllis Howkins, 6–3, 6–1 Mixed Doubles Finals 1913-2016 http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/roll_of_honour/mixeddoubles.html wimbledon.com Wimbledon Championships 29 June 2017 References External links Official Wimbledon Championships website 1920 U.S. National Championships Grand Slams 1921 U.S. National Championships Wimbledon Championships Wimbledon Championships Wimbledon Championships Wimbledon Championships
