It was also the team's sixth and final season under head coach, Frank Vogel. With a healthy Paul George returning to form, the Pacers clinched a playoff spot after defeating the Brooklyn Nets on April 10. The victory eliminated the Chicago Bulls from playoff contention. The Pacers finished the regular season with a record of 45–37, earning them the seventh seed in the East. They were matched up against the second seeded Toronto Raptors in the first round, but were eliminated in a decisive seven-game series at the end.
