Under the leadership of head coach Branko Culina, in his second year at the helm, the team secured a 6th-place finish in the league. In the finals series, Sydney United triumphed over the Brisbane Strikers with a comprehensive 4–1 aggregate victory in the Elimination Semi-Final. However, their pursuit of the championship was cut short in the subsequent Minor Semi-Final, where they suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to Adelaide City. During the pre-season, Sydney United claimed the Waratah Cup title, defeating Canterbury Marrickville FC 2–1 in the final, with goals from Zeljko Babic and Ante Moric. Conversely, their campaign in the Johnny Walker Cup was less successful, as they exited in the First Round following a 3–1 aggregate loss to the Marconi Stallions.NSW Waratah Cup 1995 - Fixtures and Results http://www.socceraust.co.uk/1995/NSW/Cup/fixtures.html www.socceraust.co.uk 27 May 20251995-6 Johnnie Walker Cup results http://www.ozfootball.net/ark/NSL/9596/NSLCup.html www.ozfootball.net 27 May 2025 David Zdrilic emerged as Sydney United's leading goalscorer in the NSL, netting nine goals, while Zeljko Babic led the team across all competitions with a total of eleven goals.Nimac Ivan Dusevic Sime Lozina Leonard Nimac Tony More Than a Game: 50 Years of Sydney United 2008 Sydney United Sydney, NSW, Australia 978-0-646-50046-1 190–192 First Edition 2008Sydney United Page http://www.ozfootball.net/ark/NSLclubs/SU9596.html www.ozfootball.net 27 May 2025 Players 1 AUS GK John Perosh 2 AUS DF Robert Trajkovski 3 CRO DF Velimir Kuprešak 4 AUS DF Tony Popovic Captain 5 AUS DF Mark Babic 6 AUS MF Robert Enes 7 AUS MF Aytek Genc 8 AUS MF Ante Moric 9 AUS MF Robert Markovac 10 AUS MF Ante Milicic 11 AUS MF Dominic Ušalj 12 AUS DF Marko Rudan 13 AUS MF Jim Patikas 14 AUS FW David Zdrilic 15 AUS FW Zeljko Babic 16 PNG FW Manis Lamond 17 AUS DF Paul Bilokapic 18 AUS MF Richard Plesa 20 AUS GK Andrew Crews 21 AUS FW James Aschner 22 AUS MF Mirko Jurilj 23 AUS DF Chad Gibson AUS MF Jacob Burns AUS FW Mario Jermen AUS MF Ljupčo Trajcevski AUS DF Joe Vrkic Transfers in n y 9 MF AUS Robert Markovac 1967 06 21 1995 07 1 Waterford United IRE Transfer Pre-season Free Robert Markovac https://www.worldfootball.net/person/pe107971/robert-markovac/ worldfootball.net 20 May 2025 enKomadina Mike Globe Trotting.
