The game was the 10th WNBA All-Star Game, which has been held annually since 1999 except in 2004, 2008, and 2010. This was the first time San Antonio hosted the basketball showcase, and only the second time in league history for the game to be held by a Western Conference franchise. In a game that saw neither team lead by more than 5 points, the Eastern Conference won 118–113 for only their third victory in 10 tries. Swin Cash of the Seattle Storm, who had 21 points and 12 rebounds in a losing effort, was named game MVP for the second time; only Lisa Leslie had previously earned multiple All-Star Game MVP awards.http://scores.espn.go.com/wnba/recap?gameId=310723099 https://web.archive.org/web/20121020035843/http://scores.espn.go.com/wnba/recap?gameId=310723099 dead October 20, 2012 Katie Douglas hits key 3-pointer to lift WNBA East All-Stars Associated Press ESPN.com July 23, 2011 July 23, 2011 The game also saw a record of 10 players (11 counting the injured, Candace Parker) make their debuts on a WNBA All-Star team—however, five of these players had appeared in the Stars at the Sun game in 2010, which is not considered an All-Star Game.Liz Cambage to Replace Injured Candace Parker in 2011 WNBA All-Star Game presented by adidas https://www.wnba.com/archive/wnba/allstar/2011/replacement_110720.html WNBA July 20, 2011 July 5, 2025 The All-Star Game Rosters Eastern Conference All-Stars 2011 WNBA yes 23 Cappie Pondexter SG 5 9 160 01-07-1983 4 New York Liberty USA yes 23 Katie Douglas basketball SG 6 0 165 05-07-1979 4 Indiana Fever USA yes 24 Tamika Catchings SF 6 1 167 07-21-1979 7 Indiana Fever USA yes 35 Angel McCoughtry SF 6 1 160 09-10-1986 1 Atlanta Dream USA yes 31 Tina Charles Tina Charles (basketball) C 6 4 198 12-05-1988 1 Connecticut Sun USA yes 21 Renee Montgomery G 5 7 143 12-02-1986 1 Connecticut Sun USA 10 Epiphanny Prince G 5 9 165 01-11-1988 1 Chicago Sky USA 21 Courtney Vandersloot G 5 8 130 02-08-1989 1 Chicago Sky USA 17 Essence Carson F 6 0 165 07-28-1986 1 New York Liberty USA 1 Crystal Langhorne F 6 2 190 10-27-1986 1 Washington Mystics USA 34 Sylvia Fowles C 6 6 200 10-06-1985 2 Chicago Sky USA USA Marynell Meadors Atlanta USA Carol Ross 1 USA Fred Williams 1 USA Kim Mosely 1 Western Conference All-Stars 2011 WNBA yes 10 Sue Bird PG 5 9 150 10-16-1980 7 Seattle Storm USA yes 3 Diana Taurasi SG 6 0 163 06-11-1982 5 Phoenix Mercury USA yes 23 Maya Moore SF 6 0 175 06-11-1989 1 Minnesota Lynx USA yes 2 Swin Cash SF 6 1 162 09-22-1979 4 Seattle Storm USA yes 3 Candace Parker F-C 6 4 175 04-19-1986 1 Los Angeles Sparks USA yes yes 25 Becky Hammon G 5 6 136 03-11-1977 6 San Antonio Silver Stars USA 13 Lindsay Whalen G 5 9 150 05-09-1982 3 Minnesota Lynx USA 33 Seimone Augustus F 6 0 179 04-30-1984 3 Minnesota Lynx USA 32 Rebekkah Brunson F 6 3 175 12-11-1981 2 Minnesota Lynx USA RS 13 Penny Taylor F 6 1 165 05-24-1981 3 Phoenix Mercury AUS 11 Danielle Adams C 6 1 239 02-09-1989 1 San Antonio Silver Stars USA 8 Liz Cambage Liz Cambage C 6 8 215 02-18-1991 1 Tulsa Shock AUS IR USA Brian Agler Seattle USA Jenny Boucek USA Dan Hughes basketball coach San Antonio USA Tom Spencer 1 Results #eee July 23 3:30 pm EDT AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas #4 Sue Blauch#17 Scott Twardoski#45 Tom Mauer 12,540 ABC (HD) East 118 West 113 33–36 32–30 27–26 26–21 Report Cappie Pondexter (17) Swin Cash (21) Angel McCoughtry (10) Swin Cash (12) Cappie Pondexter (7) Diana Taurasi (7) The Top 15 WNBA's Top 15 Team At halftime, the WNBA announced its list of the top 15 players in the 15 seasons of the league.
