It took place at 2:30 pm local time on January 26 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The game was televised nationally by NBC and was the final Pro Bowl on network television before ABC's airing in 2018 as part of a simulcast with sister network ESPN, whose parent company Disney currently holds domestic television rights to the game. Significant changes to the Pro Bowl format were adopted in an attempt to make the game more "fan-friendly". These changes were proposed by National Football League Players Association president Dominique Foxworth and developed in partnership between the league and the players' union.2014 Pro Bowl features new format for NFL all-star game https://www.nfl.com/news/2014-pro-bowl-features-new-format-for-nfl-all-star-game-0ap1000000224052 NFL.com April 4, 2013 https://web.archive.org/web/20131212051247/http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000224052/article/2014-pro-bowl-features-new-format-for-nfl-allstar-game December 12, 2013 July 31, 2013 live The most significant change was a switch to a "fantasy draft" format rather than pitting AFC all-stars against NFC all-stars. Hall of Fame players Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders were chosen, as honorary team captains, and joined by two active players each to assist in their selections. Chuck Pagano of the AFC South winning Indianapolis Colts coached Team Sanders, while Ron Rivera of the NFC South winning Carolina Panthers coached Team Rice. These coaches were selected for coaching the highest seeded teams to lose in the Divisional round of the playoffs, which has been the convention since the 2010 Pro Bowl. Team Rice won the game 22–21. https://www.espn.com/nfl/recap?gameId=340126035 Mike Tolbert's 2-point conversion clinches Pro Bowl win for Team Rice January 26, 2014 ESPN January 31, 2014 Rule changes The rosters now consist of 44 players per squad, with an additional defensive back added. Two former players, Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders, drafted players to be members of the teams. Each was assisted by two player captains, and a top player from NFL.com fantasy football. The player captains were the top two offensive and defensive players from teams not in the conference championships, as determined by a vote; Drew Brees and Robert Quinn represented Team Rice, while Team Sanders was represented by Jamaal Charles and J. J. Watt. The draft was held on January 21 and 22, 2014, with the selection of top offensive and defensive positions held during a primetime broadcast on the second day, aired by NFL Network.2014 NFL Pro Bowl Draft to be televised Jan. 22 https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/12/12/5205080/nfl-pro-bowl-draft-2014-channel-schedule-time SB Nation December 12, 2013 Vox Media May 24, 2017Lund John http://www.raiders.com/news/article-1/2014-Pro-Bowl-Features-New-Format/787b8468-fa9a-4d13-852c-b40091b78fd9 2014 Pro Bowl Features New Format Raiders.com July 31, 2013 September 15, 2013 https://web.archive.org/web/20130807100439/http://www.raiders.com/news/article-1/2014-Pro-Bowl-Features-New-Format/787b8468-fa9a-4d13-852c-b40091b78fd9 August 7, 2013 dead A "Game within the Game" format saw the addition of two-minute warnings to all four quarters, with a change of possession to start each quarter. The intention of this rule is to encourage four exciting two-minute drills. No kickoffs. A coin toss will determine which team is awarded possession first, and the ball will be placed on the 25-yard line at the start of each quarter and after scoring plays. The defense is now permitted to play "cover two" and "press" coverage. In the previous years, only the "man" coverage was permitted, except for goal line situations. Beginning at the two-minute mark of every quarter, if the offense does not gain at least one yard, the clock stops as if the play were an incomplete pass. A 35-second and 25-second play clock is used instead of the usual 40-second and 25-second clock. The game clock does not stop on quarterback sacks outside of the final 2 minutes of regulation. Summary To begin the game, the coin toss was won by Team Sanders. They decided to defer to the second half, so Team Rice started with the ball. The game featured six interceptions and nine sacks, while the 22–21 score was the lowest since the 2006 Pro Bowl, which ended with a 23–17 NFC win.Mayer Larry http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1/Forte-Jeffery-Marshall-win-Pro-Bowl/f10f6453-9c6b-44e8-a6e3-5087ebcdb66c Forte, Jeffery, Marshall win Pro Bowl Chicago Bears January 26, 2014 January 27, 2014 https://web.archive.org/web/20140130085452/http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1/Forte-Jeffery-Marshall-win-Pro-Bowl/f10f6453-9c6b-44e8-a6e3-5087ebcdb66c January 30, 2014 dead Scoring summary The scores broken down by quarter:https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=340126035 Rice vs. Sanders – Box Score – January 26, 2014 – ESPN ESPN.comhttp://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2014012600/2013/PRO21/team-rice@team-sanders#menu=drivechart&tab=track Watch Team Jerry Rice vs. Team Deion Sanders [01/26/2014] - NFL.com NFL.com autocollapse #eee background-color:#000; color:#fff 2014 Pro Bowl: Team Rice 22, Team Sanders 21 January 26, 2014 7:30 p.m. EST / 2:30 p.m. HST Team Rice 0 14 0 8 Team Sanders 7 7 0 7 Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii On and off rain, clearing late; temperature 21 C (73 F) 2014 Pro Bowl – National Football League Game Summary RIC SAN expanded 1 10:10 SAN 5 74 2:50 RecTD Jackson Luck 36 good Tucker 0 7 2 9:05 RIC 7 55 3:25 RecTD Graham Brees 8 good Gostkowski 7 7 2 5:42 SAN 4 7 2:08 RushTD Newton Luck 1 good Tucker 7 14 2 0:36 RIC 7 58 1:56 RecTD Gordon Rivers 10 good Gostkowski 14 14 4 4:41 SAN 5 57 2:39 RecTD Cameron Foles 12 good Tucker 14 21 4 0:41 RIC 4 26 0:19 RecTD Murray Smith 20 Tolbert run good 22 21 22 21 Rosters Team Deion Sanders Team SandersQuarterbacks  1 Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers)  9 Nick Foles (Philadelphia Eagles)replacement a aThank the Patriots – Nick Foles makes Pro Bowl CSNPhilly.com ComcastSports.net http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/thank-patriots-nick-foles-makes-pro-bowl January 11, 2014 January 12, 2014 https://web.archive.org/web/20140112180417/http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/thank-patriots-nick-foles-makes-pro-bowl January 12, 2014 dead 12 Andrew Luck (Indianapolis Colts)replacement a aAndrew Luck is Heading to the Pro Bowl stampedeblue.com http://www.stampedeblue.com/2014/1/19/5326114/andrew-luck-is-heading-to-the-pro-bowl January 19, 2014 Running backs 25 Jamaal Charles (Kansas City Chiefs) (C) 27 Eddie Lacy (Green Bay Packers)replacement a aPackers RB Eddie Lacy to the Pro Bowl as 49ers, Seahawks Advance CheeseheadTV.com http://cheeseheadtv.com/blog/packers-rb-eddie-lacy-to-the-pro-bowl-as-49ers-seahawks-advance January 13, 2014 January 13, 2014 45 Marcel Reece (Oakland Raiders) FB 46 Alfred Morris American football (Washington Redskins)replacement a aAdrian Peterson bows out of Pro Bowl foxsports.com http://msn.foxsports.com/north/story/adrian-peterson-bows-out-of-pro-bowl-011514 January 15, 2014 Wide receivers 10 DeSean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles)injury a a Desean Jackson replacing Andre Johnson in Pro Bowl profootballtalk.nbcsports.com January 17, 2014 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/17/desean-jackson-replacing-andre-johnson-in-pro-bowl/ January 17, 2014 18 A.
