The 1908 Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team was an American football team that represented the University of Notre Dame as an independent during the 1908 college football season. In its first and only year under head coach Victor M. Place, the team compiled an 8–1 record and outscored opponents by a total of 326 to 20. The team did not allow any opponent to cross its goal line during the season, all points against them having been scored on field goals (then valued at four points). The Season. http://archives.nd.edu/Scholastic/VOL_0042/VOL_0042_ISSUE_0012.pdf The Notre Dame Scholastic XLII 12 1908-12-05 209
