The 1998 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira was contested over two legs, and opposed two Primeira Liga sides Braga and Porto. Porto qualified for the SuperCup by winning the 1997–98 Primeira Divisão and the 1997–98 Taça de Portugal, whilst Braga gained entry into the competition as the cup runners-up due to the Dragões claiming both league and cup in the same season.January 2026 The first leg which took place at the Estádio das Antas, saw Porto win 1–0 thanks to a Zlatko Zahovič goal. The second leg which took place at the Estádio Primeiro de Maio, saw a 1–1 tie between both sides, and thus allow Porto to win 2–1 on aggregate over two legs which would give the Portistas their tenth Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira.Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira 1997/1998 Final Supercup Cândido de Oliveira 1997/1998 Final https://www.foradejogo.net/tournament.php?cup=19981545002 Fora DeJogo 20 October 2013 First leg Details 8 August 1998 Porto 1–0 January 2026 Braga Zahovič 48 Estádio das Antas, Porto Vítor Pereira (Lisbon)January 2026 _porto9798h _porto9798h _porto9798h _porto9798h _2bluestripes FFFFFF FFFFFF Porto _scbraga9798h _scbraga9798h _scbraga9798h _redstripes _whiteborder FFFFFF FF0000 Braga GK24 FRY Ivica Kralj 31RB7 POR Carlos SecretárioCB2 POR Jorge CostaCB4 BRA Aloísio (c)LB5 POR Fernando MendesCM20 POR Paulinho SantosAM8 POR Rui BarrosAM25 SVN Zlatko ZahovičRW21 POR Capucho 73LW10 POR António Folha 45CF9 POL Grzegorz MielcarskiSubstitutes:GK1 POR Rui Correia 31MF11 FRY Ljubinko Drulović 45FW15 HUN Miklós Fehér 73Manager:POR Fernando Santos GK1 POR QuimRB2 POR Zé Nuno Azevedo (c)CB5 POR IdalécioCB10 POR Sérgio AbreuLB15 POR LinoRM20 POR JordãoCM14 POR Vítor CastanheiraCM22 POR Bruno 56LM21 POR Gamboa 65CF11 BRA Elpídio SilvaCF16 CRO Mladen Karoglan 82Substitutes:DF8 POR Alberto Cabral 82MF7 POR António Formoso 65FW17 BRA Dé 56Manager:POR Vítor Oliveira Match officials Assistant referees: Fourth official:Match rules 90 minutes.
