Rapid began the season by losing the Austrian Supercup to Austria Salzburg, but eventually won the league with 73 points, six points more than the runners-up Sturm Graz, whom they beat and lost twice during the domestic campaign. They were knocked out of the Austrian Cup by Admira Wacker in the third round. Rapid had its best European campaign since the 1984-85 season in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, where the Vienna club defeated Petrolul Ploiesti, Sporting CP, Dynamo Moscow and Feyenoord, but lost the final against Paris Saint-Germain.https://www.uefa.com/news/013e-0f8432a7e585-e3736b56faed-1000--1995-96-european-first-for-paris-saint-germain/?utm_source=chatgpt.com 1995/96: European first for Paris Saint-Germain UEFA 27 June 2026https://www.krone.at/3944816? „So ein geniales Team erlebst du alle 30 Jahre“ Krone 27 June 2026https://www.skrapid.at/aktuelles/2026/04/throwback1996-der-triumph-gegen-feyenoord Throwback 1996: Der Triumph gegen Feyenoord SK Rapid Wien 27 June 2026https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/0224-0e916d73db32-1bbe9a74cc06-1000--ten-claims-to-fame-rapid-wien/ Ten claims to fame: Rapid Wien UEFA 27 June 2026 Squad statistics No.Nat.NameAgeLeagueCupSupercupCW CupTotalDisciplineAppsGoalsAppsGoalsAppsGoalsAppsGoalsAppsGoalsGoalkeepers1AUT Michael Konsel 1962 3 6 1995 7 1 born on 6 March 1962 36 2 1 9 48 1 Defenders4BUL Trifon Ivanov 1965 7 27 1995 7 1 born on 27 July 1965 30 7 1 9 1 40 8 10 5AUT Peter Schöttel 1967 3 26 1995 7 1 born on 26 March 1967 33+2 2 1 8 44+2 9 13AUT Rene Haller 1973 11 12 1995 7 1 born on 12 November 1973 1+5 1 0+1 0+4 2+10 2 19AUT Michael Hatz 1970 11 17 1995 7 1 born on 17 November 1970 30 1 2 1 8 40 2 15 1Midfielders2AUT Patrick Jovanovic 1973 12 17 1995 7 1 born on 17 December 1973 26+8 2 1 4+2 33+10 3 13AUT Peter Guggi 1967 9 25 1995 7 1 born on 25 September 1967 21+8 3 0+1 1 1 8+1 30+10 4 6 6AUT Peter Stöger 1966 4 11 1995 7 1 born on 11 April 1966 34+1 7 1+1 1 1 9 1 45+2 9 4 8AUT Zoran Barisic 1970 5 22 1995 7 1 born on 22 May 1970 18+13 8 1 2+4 2 21+17 10 7 110AUT Dietmar Kühbauer 1971 4 4 1995 7 1 born on 4 April 1971 24+2 6 2 5 1 31+2 7 7 12AUT Oliver Lederer 1978 1 2 1995 7 1 born on 2 January 1978 1+1 2 0+1 3+2 14SVK Roman Pivarník 1967 2 17 1995 7 1 born on 17 February 1967 19+7 2 1 5 25+7 2 3 15AUT Sascha Bürringer 1975 9 3 1995 7 1 born on 3 September 1975 0+2 1 0+1 1+3 17AUT Stephan Marasek 1970 1 4 1995 7 1 born on 4 January 1970 32+1 2 1 1 1 8 42+1 3 9 18TJK Sergei Mandreko 1971 8 1 1995 7 1 born on 1 August 1971 10+8 1 0+1 0+2 11+11 4 20AUT Andreas Heraf 1967 9 10 1995 7 1 born on 10 September 1967 25+7 5 1+1 1 9 36+8 5 10 Forwards7AUT Christian Stumpf 1966 12 24 1995 7 1 born on 24 December 1966 30+3 15 0+2 1 9 4 39+5 20 3 19GER Carsten Jancker 1974 8 28 1995 7 1 born on 28 August 1974 18+9 7 2 3 6+1 6 26+10 16 5 11POL Maciej Sliwowski 1967 1 10 1995 7 1 born on 10 January 1967 8+8 5 1+1 1 10+9 5 NOR Geir Frigård 1970 11 3 1995 7 1 born on 3 November 1970 1 1 Saison 1995/96 http://www.rapidarchiv.at/saisonen/1996.html rapidarchiv.at 5 August 2016 Fixtures and results Spiele 1995/96 http://www.rapidarchiv.at/spiele/1996.html rapidarchiv.at 6 August 2016 #CCFFCC Win 1px solid #AAAAAA #FFFFCC Draw 1px solid #AAAAAA #FFCCCC Loss 1px solid #AAAAAA Bundesliga Rd RoundDateVenueOpponentRes.
