Irina Gumenyuk and world leader Caterine Ibargüen took care of business on their first attempts. Saladuha's former Ukrainian teammate Hanna Knyazyeva-Minenko, now competing for Israel, suffered through two fouls before popping the No. 3 qualifier on her last attempt. In the final, Saladuha took the first round lead, with Knyazyeva-Minenko leading a crowd of four hovering around 14.30. In the second round, the event was decided. First the home team's Ekaterina Koneva put one out at 14.81 to take the lead. Two jumps later, Ibargüen improved on her world leading jump of the year by going 14.85, just 4 cm further. Two jumps after that, Saladuha improved out to 14.65. That turned out to be it, but nobody knew it. Ibargüen continued with a 14.83 in the fourth round, which turned out to be the second best of the competition and watched nervously as Koneva tickled her best with a 14.79 in the fifth. But the lead held up and Ibargüen took home Colombia's first World Championship gold medal to go along with the bronzes she and racewalker Luis Fernando López earned in Daegu.http://www.iaaf.org/competitions/iaaf-world-championships/14th-iaaf-world-championships-4873/news/feature/women/triple-jump Caterine the Great's Moscow Triumph makes history for Colombia dead 10 September 2017 https://web.archive.org/web/20170910224000/https://www.iaaf.org/competitions/iaaf-world-championships/14th-iaaf-world-championships-4873/news/feature/women/triple-jumpIAAF World Championships Results – Triple Jump Women – Fina http://dt9guucc6nuua.cloudfront.net/competitiondocuments/pdf/4873/AT-TJ-W-f----.RS6.pdf?v=1448624753 IAAF https://web.archive.org/web/20220406233014/http://dt9guucc6nuua.cloudfront.net/competitiondocuments/pdf/4873/AT-TJ-W-f----.RS6.pdf?v=1448624753 6 April 2022 15 August 2013 live Records Prior to the competition, the records were as follows:http://www.iaaf.org/records/by-discipline/jumps/triple-jump/outdoor/women Records & Lists – triple jump IAAF 8 August 2013 World recordInessa Kravets UKR15.50Gothenburg, Sweden10 August 1995Championship recordInessa Kravets UKR15.50Göteborg, Sweden10 August 1995World leadingOlha Saladuha UKR14.85Eugene, United States1 June 2013African recordFrançoise Mbango Etone CMR15.39Beijing, People's Republic of China17 August 2008Asian recordOlga Rypakova KAZ15.25Split, Croatia4 September 2010North, Central American and Caribbean recordYargelis Savigne CUB15.28Osaka, Japan31 August 2007South American recordCaterine Ibargüen COL14.99Bogotá, Colombia13 August 2011European recordInessa Kravets UKR15.50Göteborg, Sweden10 August 1995Oceanian recordNicole Mladenis AUS14.04Hobart, Australia9 March 2002Perth, Australia7 December 2003 Schedule Date Time Round13 August 2013 11:25 Qualification15 August 2013 19:40 Final All times are local times (UTC+4) Results KEY:QQualifiedq12 best performersNRNational recordPBPersonal bestSBSeasonal best Qualification Qualification: Qualifying Performance 14.30 (Q) or at least 12 best performers (q) advance to the final.http://dt9guucc6nuua.cloudfront.net/competitiondocuments/pdf/4873/AT-TJ-W-q----.RS6.pdf?v=701044626 Qualification Results Rank Group Name Nationality No. 1 No. 2 No. 3 Result Notes 1 A Olha Saladuha UKR 2013 World 13.95 14.69 14.69 Q 2 B Caterine Ibargüen COL 2013 World 14.52 14.52 Q 3 A Hanna Knyazyeva-Minenko ISR 2013 World x x 14.46 14.46 Q 4 B Anna Pyatykh RUS 2013 World 13.80 x 14.34 14.34 Q 5 A Kimberly Williams JAM 2013 World 14.25 14.36 14.36 Q 6 B Ekaterina Koneva RUS 2013 World 13.32 14.30 14.30 Q 7 A Irina Gumenyuk RUS 2013 World 14.30 14.30 Q 8 A Mabel Gay CUB 2013 World 13.99 13.95 14.17 14.17 q 9 B Snežana Rodić SVN 2013 World 13.73 x 14.17 14.17 q 10 B Anna Jagaciak POL 2013 World x 13.21 13.96 13.96 q 11 B Athanasia Perra GRE 2013 World x 13.85 13.92 13.92 q 12 A Dana Velďáková SVK 2013 World x 13.88 13.85 13.88 q 13 A Keila Costa BRA 2013 World 13.82 13.80 13.67 13.82 14 B Simona La Mantia ITA 2013 World 13.57 x 13.80 13.80 15 A Niki Panetta GRE 2013 World 13.04 13.69 13.52 13.69 16 B Ruslana Tsykhotska UKR 2013 World 13.51 x x 13.51 17 B Baya Rahouli ALG 2013 World x 13.41 x 13.41 18 A Irina Litvinenko Ektova KAZ 2013 World x 13.09 13.37 13.37 19 A Anastasiya Juravleva UZB 2013 World 13.03 13.32 x 13.32 20 A Sarah Nambawa UGA 2013 World x x 13.31 13.31 21 B Natallia Viatkina BLR 2013 World 13.19 x 13.02 13.19 Final thumb|Gold medalist Caterine Ibargüen.
