After winning their first six matches, they lost to New South Wales Swifts in Round 7. They then lost three successive matches, another to Swifts and one to Northern Mystics. On 20 May in Round 8, against Mystics, Vixens were undone by Mystics defender Anna Harrison and her Harrison Hoist. Harrison made several vital blocks while being hoisted rugby union lineout-style by her defensive partners, helping Mystics secure a 49–45 win. However, Vixens successively claimed the minor premiership with three wins in the final three rounds.https://www.smh.com.au/sport/netball/league-leaders-stunned-as-new-zealand-netball-team-adopt-rugby-tactic-20120521-1z09z.html League leaders stunned as New Zealand netball team adopt rugby tactic www.smh.com.au 21 May 2012 23 March 2021https://www.news.com.au/sport/netball/melbourne-vixens-lose-to-northern-mystics-at-hisense-arena/news-story/886a36531ee1daa2a917e77375bc2b32?sv=f2377ae58eae87575f272c2dd1b9cde Melbourne Vixens lose to Northern Mystics at Hisense Arena news.com.au 20 May 2012 23 March 2021 Fixtures and results Round 1 Sunday 1 April 14:20 (UTC+10:00) Queensland Firebirds Melbourne Vixens 42 – 47 http://www.anz-championship.com/news/a/rookie-helps-vixens-stun-firebirds/778 http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280103/index.html Romelda Aiken 29 35 Natalie Medhurst 13 21 Kate Beveridge 15 19 Karyn Howarth 26 38Tegan Caldwell 6 8 Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre Round 2 Sunday 8 April 12:20 (UTC+08:00) West Coast Fever Melbourne Vixens 41 – 50 http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280203/index.html Caitlin Bassett 26 30 Catherine Cox 13 23 Nikala Smith 2 4 Kate Beveridge 14 18 Tegan Caldwell 26 33 Karyn Howarth 10 12 Challenge Stadium Round 3 Sunday 15 April 13:50 (UTC+09:30) Adelaide Thunderbirds Melbourne Vixens 34 – 48 http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280302/index.html Erin Bell 14 16 Carla Borrego 20 26 Kate Beveridge 18 23 Tegan Caldwell 22 23 Karyn Howarth 8 12 Netball SA Stadium Round 4 Sunday 22 April 12:10 (UTC+10:00) Melbourne Vixens Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic 40 – 39 http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280403/index.html Kate Beveridge 18 23 Tegan Caldwell 17 21 Karyn Howarth 5 7 Julianna Naoupu 9 17 Irene van Dyk 25 30 Jess Waitapu 5 7 Hisense Arena Round 5 Sunday 29 April 14:20 (UTC+10:00) Melbourne Vixens Queensland Firebirds 52 – 51 http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280502/index.html Kate Beveridge 12 16 Tegan Caldwell 27 33 Karyn Howarth 13 16 Romelda Aiken 33 36 Natalie Medhurst 18 23 Hisense Arena Round 6 Monday 7 May 19:40 (UTC+12:00) Canterbury Tactix Melbourne Vixens 41 – 65 http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280604/index.html Ellen Halpenny 11 12 Joanne Harten 20 30 Anna Thompson 10 13 Kate Beveridge 8 11 Tegan Caldwell 29 29 Karyn Howarth 28 34 CBS Canterbury Arena Round 7 Sunday 13 May 14:20 (UTC+10:00) New South Wales Swifts Melbourne Vixens 55 – 52 http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280701/index.html Carla Dziwoki 14 19 Susan Pratley 31 34 Amorette Wild 10 13 Kate Beveridge 4 4 Tegan Caldwell 23 26 Karyn Howarth 25 31 Allphones Arena Round 8 Sunday 20 May 12:10 (UTC+10:00) Melbourne Vixens Northern Mystics 45 – 49 https://www.smh.com.au/sport/netball/league-leaders-stunned-as-new-zealand-netball-team-adopt-rugby-tactic-20120521-1z09z.html http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280803/index.html Kate Beveridge 12 16 Tegan Caldwell 20 23 Karyn Howarth 13 15 Cathrine Latu 23 24 Maria Tutaia 26 34 Hisense Arena Round 9 Sunday 27 May 14:20 (UTC+10:00) Melbourne Vixens New South Wales Swifts 43 – 49 http://anzchampionship.championdata.com/match_centre/matches/80280902/index.html Kate Beveridge 18 22 Tegan Caldwell 11 11 Karyn Howarth 14 16 Carla Dziwoki 4 6 Susan Pratley 32 37 Amorette Wild 13 16 Hisense Arena Round 10 Sunday 3 June 14:20 (UTC+10:00) Melbourne Vixens Adelaide Thunderbirds 48 – 40 https://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-06-03/vixens-return-to-form-over-t-birds/4049540 Kate Beveridge 30 36 Tegan Caldwell 15 20 Karyn Howarth 3 4 Erin Bell ?Carla Borrego ?
