2009 UCI ProTour

Road cycling series 2009 UCI ProTour 5 UCI ProTour 20 January – 23 August Australia and Europe 14 2008 2010 The 2009 UCI ProTour was the fifth series of the UCI ProTour. Two new teams, the American GRM 2009 and the Russian KAT 2009, joined the ProTour, effectively taking over the licenses of C.A 2008 and GST 2008. Two existing teams changed title sponsors: SAX 2008a from Denmark became SAX 2009, and FUJ 2008a changed name to FUJ 2009. As in 2008, the races organized by the three Grand Tour organizers were not part of the ProTour. Rather than a ranking based only on the ProTour, the UCI designed a World Calendar, on which the Monument events and Grand Tours were included, with a corresponding 2009 UCI World Ranking. The first race was the 2009 Tour Down Under in January, and the series ended with the 2009 GP Ouest-France in August. 2009 UCI ProTour races http://www.uciprotour.com/templates/UCI/UCI7/layout.asp?MenuId=MTU1OTk&LangId=1 2009 UCI ProTour Races UCI 2009-10-19 https://web.archive.org/web/20091018054943/http://www.uciprotour.com/templates/UCI/UCI7/layout.asp?MenuId=MTU1OTk&LangId=1 18 October 2009 dead DatesRaceWinnerUCI World Ranking leader20–25 JanuaryAUS Tour Down Under Allan Davis AUS(QST 2009) Allan Davis AUS(QST 2009)5 AprilBEL Tour of Flanders Stijn Devolder BEL(QST 2009)8 AprilBEL Gent–Wevelgem Edvald Boasson Hagen NOR(THR 2009a)6–11 AprilESP Vuelta al País Vasco Alberto Contador ESP(AST 2009) Alberto Contador ESP(AST 2009)19 AprilNED Amstel Gold Race Serguei Ivanov RUS(KAT 2009) Heinrich Haussler GER(CTT 2009Haussler had taken the lead in the World Rankings prior to the Amstel Gold Race, in the Paris–Roubaix race which is part of the World Rankings but not the ProTour)28 April–3 MaySUI Tour de RomandieRoman Kreuziger CZE(LIQ 2009)18–24 MayESP Volta a CatalunyaAlejandro Valverde ESP(GCE 2009)Allan Davis AUS(QST 2009)Davis did not take part in the Volta a Catalunya, but had won enough points during the concurrent Giro d'Italia to regain the overall lead in the World Rankings7–14 JuneFRA Dauphiné LibéréAlejandro Valverde ESP(GCE 2009)Alejandro Valverde ESP(GCE 2009)13–21 JuneSUI Tour de SuisseFabian Cancellara SUI(SAX 2009)1 AugustESP Clásica de San SebastiánCarlos Barredo ESP(QST 2009) Alberto Contador ESP(AST 2009)Contador had taken the lead in the World Rankings prior to the Clásica de San Sebatián, in the Tour de France which is part of the World Rankings but not the ProTour.2–8 AugustPOL Tour de PologneAlessandro Ballan ITA(LAM 2009)16 AugustGER Vattenfall CyclassicsTyler Farrar USA(GRM 2009)20–27 AugustBEL / NED Tour of Benelux Edvald Boasson Hagen NOR(THR 2009a)23 AugustFRA GP Ouest-France Simon Gerrans AUS(CTT 2009) Teams http://www.uciprotour.com/templates/UCI/UCI2/layout.asp?MenuId=MTU2MTU UCI UCI ProTour: 2009 teams 2008-11-26 2009-01-05 https://web.archive.org/web/20081230225216/http://www.uciprotour.com/templates/UCI/UCI2/layout.asp?MenuId=MTU2MTU 30 December 2008 dead CodeOfficial Team NameCountryWebsite ALM ALM 2009 https://web.archive.org/web/20070521180907/http://www.ag2r-cyclisme.com/ 2007-05-21 AST AST 2009 BTL BBO 2009 COF COF 2009 EUS EUS 2009 FDJ FDJ 2009 https://web.archive.org/web/20070523232117/http://www.fdjeux.com/institutionnel/cyclisme/actualites/ 2007-05-23 FUJ FUJ 2009 https://web.archive.org/web/20090327082629/http://www.fuji-servetto.com/ 2009-03-27 GCE GCE 2009 GRM GRM 2009 https://web.archive.org/web/20090129205217/http://www.slipstreamsports.com/ 2009-01-29 KAT KAT 2009 LAM LAM 2009 LIQ LIQ 2009 MRM MRM 2009 QST QST 2009 RAB RAB 2009 SAX SAX 2009 September 2018 InternetArchiveBot yes SIL SIL 2009 THR THR 2009b https://web.archive.org/web/20200923140148/http://highroadsports.com/ 2020-09-23 References External links http://www.uciprotour.com/ * ProTour 2009
