Rule changes for 2016 The organizers of Hockey India League announced changes in rules for the 2016 edition. The changes put the focus firmly back on the more traditional art of scoring. The weightage for field goals were double compared to the goals scored from penalty corners, meaning a field goal would count as two while successfully converted short corner would still be considered as one goal. It was called a pilot project, and if successful, would also be introduced globally.Vasavda Mihir HIL 2016: New goal rule to the fore as forwards back at the forefront http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/hockey/stick-notes-new-goal-rule-to-the-fore-as-forwards-back-at-the-forefront/ 20 January 2016 The Indian Express 18 January 2016 Standings Pos PositionTeamPld Matches PlayedW WonD DrawnL LostGF Goal ForGA Goal AgainstGD Goal DifferencePts PointsQualification1Ranchi Rays107033327+637Advanced to Semi-finals2Punjab Warriors105143226+6293Delhi Waveriders105053537−2274Kalinga Lancers104153936+3255Dabang Mumbai104063435−1256Uttar Pradesh Wizards104063042−1223 Source: Pool standingsRules for classification: 1) points; 2) matches won; 3) goal difference; 4) goals scored; 5) head-to-head points, goal difference & goals scored; 6) shoot‐out competition Results table main complete HIL DM DWR KL JPW RR UPW Dabang Mumbai DM Delhi Waveriders DWR Kalinga Lancers KL Punjab Warriors JPW Ranchi Rays RR Uttar Pradesh Wizards UPW 3–4 4–6 7–5 1–5 6–3 4–6 2–5 3–8 7–4 6–0 6–8 4–2 4–0 1–4 2–3 2–0 4–5 3–1 0–3 4–4 2–1 3–2 5–4 6–0 1–0 2–4 1–3 2–10 1–2 4–1 match118 January 2016 18:00 Kalinga Lancers 6–8 Uttar Pradesh Wizards Mor FG 15Turner FG 29 37 Report Jolie FG 9Bain FG 14Ockenden FG 60Akashdeep FG 60 Kalinga Hockey Stadium, Bhubaneswar Marcin Grochal (POL)R.
